Dummyy question from a potential DVC buyer

Hypothetical question here.. If I buy a Feb. use year DVC..am I already 6 months into my eleven months booking window for my first booking,also do I still have the ability to bank all my points for this year?

Use year has nothing to do with the 11 month booking window.

As long as the points will be available at the time of travel.

Talk to your guide about banking but when we were a new buyer we could have banked all of our points at that time. We had a June UY and bought in on Oct with a DEC close I think.

If you purchase direct from Disney, they will let you bank points.

If you're buying resale, regular banking windows apply.


As mentioned, the 11-month window is how far in advance you can make a reservation for a planned vacation. It has nothing to do with use year.

The date of the vacation determines which use year the points must come out of. As long as you have (or will have) points in the applicable use year, you make the reservation.

Example, you have a Feb Use Year, and let's say all of your 2006 points have been used. You plan to travel in October, 2007. You can call this month, September 2006 (11-months ahead), and make a reservation, using the points you will receive Feb, 2007.

Yes he went 1 month in the wrong direction .Sept06 to Oct 07 would be 13 months .

Good catch.He did have the 11 months noted though.
