I haven't had to submit a resume in a really long time. My current job I didn't need one. But now we're moving and I need to look for a job. So my dummy question is what do I put in a cover letter. I know it's a dumb question but I've never had to do one before. I don't know if it makes a difference but it's for a school bus driver position. Thanks for all your help.

id google it. i found great examples of cover letters when I had to write mine.

You want to (1) let them know how you heard about the job, (2) highlight any special qualifications you have that may not be in your general resume, but fit that job in particular, and (3) directly ask for an interview - as in "I am very interested in learning more about your company and the position. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to meet in person."

Also, make sure you send a thank-you letter after the interview as well!
