It’s for liberty mutual. The cell phone gets splashed and says oh no not again. Then he jumps in a bathtub full of rice and says come on rice do your thing. Anyone even knows what that’s supposed to mean.

a wet cellphone is cured by the magical properties of rice when the two of the them jump into a baggie...but don't ask how long.....I slept thru most of Freshman IP science.

as soon as possible. Then turn it off, take out the battery, and remove all accessories. Try to remove as much water from it as you can with towels and a vacuum cleaner. Then, put it in a bowl of instant rice or other absorbent material for 48-72 hours before turning it on. With a little luck and fast action

We used to have a gallon ziplock bag filled with rice just for wet cell phones (flip phones, not smart phones). The rice is supposed to help "dry out" the phone. It kind of worked.

Rice doesn't really work for that, but it's a pretty common myth. Quite a few people have done that and found that rice dust got inside and it was even worse. What might work is a silica gel desiccant (like used in shoes or food) to keep them dry. There are some really large bags that are sold for this purpose.

I think Apple recommends using a fan, but if you bring it in they're only going to offer a replacement. They won't ever service a device that shows evidence of water getting inside. Even if it's supposedly water resistant, as they don't guarantee it.

As for dumbest commercials, an ad agency once did these Coors Light radio commercials. A friend of mine worked at the agency for a little bit, and when anyone found out about those commercials they'd tell her how ridiculous they were. I don't know if anyone remembers them, but one in the series was a guy bragging to a woman about owning a car with "50 inch spinners". When they finally got to see his car, it was a school bus and said something about it looking like it was spinning at the right angle. It was just bizarre.

I've started keeping silica packs I get in packages juuuuuuust in case we have to dry out a phone one day.

I barely see TV commercials anymore, but I remember a few that were meh.

An older PCmatic commercial. A guy goes into a flower shop, the cashier is having issues with her slow computer (community college drama courses begin to pay off in this scene) and he brightens her day by informing her about PCmatic. After the voice over announcement, her computer is fixed. "..the flowers are on the house!" she says.

Then there's that My Pillow ad: "and I'm feeling good!" "I knew you would!"

Any ads with dogs and cats in shelters/cages, I have to look away.

I hate that every single commercial is people wearing masks. Trying to normalize this stuff is really bothersome to me. Just show regular people doing regular things. We all get the reality but we don't need it shoved down our throats.

I never understood the Amex commercials a few years ago where they would have some celebrity talk about their day and end with “My life is long walks on the beach. That’s why my card is American Express.”

The DVR & streaming services have been a wonderful improvement for all those seeking to avoid commercials.

I even upgraded to YouTube Premium over the last two months to avoid the political ads. I’m in Georgia so we’re about to get bombarded. I’ll keep YouTube Premium until January

At this time, wearing masks is/should be a "regular thing". I think it's going to be necessary for at least another year.

Any perfume or cologne commercial. They make no sense what so ever.
LIkie that out of this world Channel #5 commercial aird on Amazin race.....that was the creepiest commercial I have seen....for any product. I wasn't sure if it was the next episode of Twlight in space or they are still looking for George Clooney. of course not suppose to make sense....spending for a bottle of liquid .
