Dumb Things You Have Done While On Vacation

OK- what are the dumb things that you have done while on vacation? I'll start My DH and I were at first new to traveling with the US and previously had always flew with either Air Canada, or West Jet. We were accustomed to individual t.v.'s Two years ago, March Break we got on American Airlines, settled in and started looking for the t.v.'s. BIG MISTAKE!!! We started hitting all kinds of buttons above us. All of a sudden the gas masks fell. The airline stewardess came up and helped us out. We were soooooooo embarassed. Who knew that alot of the US airlines don't have tv's?? Anyway that's one the many dumb things that we have done while traveling!

Too funny! We just flew AA during xmas for the first time and I thought I was flying in 1970's planes...............no tv............very dated.............I miss my AC and WestJet..............never again will I fly AA

We just landed at Minneapolis airport to transfer to the next leg of our journey to Orlando airport. We were all starving but had just enough time to eat. I went on my own and found a Burger King, quite a walk, but it should have been enough time.

I have no idea what took so bloody long for our order, but I was seriously running out of time. I took my order (of course bags were packed FULL with 6 orders!) The bag ripped while I was running, and the greasy fries on the very smooth airport floor made the fries scatter like rockets and resulted in a 30 ft radius of fries around my feet. I was so ticked at this point I just kept running.

I made the flight, btw.

Heres a couple.

Hanging my 500 dollar camera over the back of the chair while we ate lunch and then walking away leaving it there. Not realizing until we got on the Disney cruise we had no camera for our very first and last Disney Chrstmas cruise. While we were on the ship dh put his cc in his lanyard pouch and lost it on the boat essentially leaving us penniless because they cancelled both our cards not just his. We had different cc numbers. I was able to finally cash advance at the casino at Atlantis on an old credit card which was immediately froze because I tried to use it in the Bahamas after such a long time...ya red flag lol and it took forever to sort out because it just happened to be Christmas day that we were at Atlantis so help was minimal at its best. It was the only way we could pay off our cruise bill because the card that was on file had been cancelled. We did not realize at the time that our First Calgary bank card only worked at certain bank machines and we could not make any direct point of purchase with it anywhere outside of Canada. That whole Disney trip was one hawt mess....but a learning experience also.

A similar thing CC happened to a friend of mine while in Europe. Her purse was stolen just a few days after arrival and they were staying for 3 weeks. The police told them that you and your spouse should always carry seperate CC's that are not linked together by any means, not even the same bank of issue. They were lucky enough to be able to call home and have their daughter wire them some money and she was also able to get Amex to, immediately issue them another card. Since the police were involved the hotel allowed them to charge meals and things to their room, as well, Amex contacted the hotel to assure them that the charges would be looked after.

oh my this reminds me of a few....this past trip dh left the cameras- video and digital behind in two places. one was cosmic rays. think the other was on the stroller. the cosmic rays was the worst one. we realized it on tta....yeah so brainac decides instead of telling a cm, he jumps out of the bucket as its moving!!!! brilliant....but he got the cameras back.

i lost my glasses somewhere at hs. they were on my head and sunglasses on my face- smart. someone turned them in tho.
also similar- had my glasses on my face on btmrr and went o point to dh something on the ride. i bumped my sunglasses off my shirt and they wer gone forever.

lesson learned- i now have transitions for this trip

my worst now that i bashed dh. on our first trip last day we went to play mini golf as some place by wally hole. as were turning in our stuff we see they have a cute budgie bird they let out on the counters....so he backs up, me thinking hes going to fall off i put my hands out to catch him and i get bleeped on by the bird....hubby howled and the girl waiting on us laughed so hard.....i was genuienly concerned for the budgie.....yeah good times....

giving my daughter a chocolate cake for her first birthday and the next day flying from vancouver to montreal. yup, poo-nami! and we happen to be sitting beside a very nice woman who announced to us as soon as we sat down that she hates kids..... i bet she hates them more after that flight.

oh and yes, i had no just in case clothing for my beauty. so luckily daddy had a tracksuit and we took his jacket and wrapped it around her. and daddy went shirtlist as that too was covered in poo!
