Ok I swear I have looked everywhere before posting this question! I checked allearsnet, and I tried to search this forum but I could not get the search engine to work properly.
So here it is:
what time is check-in and check out at Ft. Wilderness? Is it the same as the other resorts? We were hoping to get there early in the afternoon, and since they don't have to clean it like a hotel room, is that okay??
And if I have someone visiting us, do they just tell the security gate that? Will they let them visit us for a bit?
And do you think we can fit two tents on our site? I was hoping to put us in one and the kids in the other...but I don't know if that will work. How has it worked for you before?
Thank you for answering my dumb questions!!

Check in begins at 1 if I remember right (last was 2 years ago)... They have to have time to clean up after people check out. They want things clean and tidy and run a tight ship so to speak. If you want to get there earlier and then go to the parks you can drive into the over flow and check in through the office but you won't be allowed to go to your site until they have made sure your spot that is reserved is ready . Yes ,you can have a guest but you are only allowed one vehicle per campsite so they would need to call you so you can come get them unless you leave your car up front. They will need to have their names on a list with guest services(left by you at check in).You will have plenty of room to have 2 tents PLUS...Have a great vacation..

Really should have this as a sticky.

Official check-in is 1:00pm and check-out is 11:00am.

If you get there early go through guard gate and check-in. Your site might be ready. Our site was ready 2 weeks ago at 7:35am so we went right to it. If it is not ready you go to overflow and park and start your stay. You are given a card with phone number to call to check on your site status.

You can have 2 vehicles at your site. We have our MH and when DD and family show up I meet them in big lot and give her a key and parking pass and they come to our site. Since they are not staying over night there is no extra charge. Later in the day when DSIL shows up he parks in big lot and just hops on a bus to get to our site.

Thank you so much, that really helps a lot. We are arriving Friday night and very excited!
I tried to find FAQs, etc to give me the lowdown, but either I looked in the wrong places or it's not there!

Last time we were there we stayed at WL the night before. We were going to go to a park and then go and set up. We called FW at 8:30 to see about where we were and they said that our campsite was available. We got to set up and then went to the park to get lunch after we got cleaned up.

You can have 2 vehicles at your site. We have our MH

You can only have 2 vehicles if one of them is your camping vehicle. If you are only tent camping, or have a travel trailer, then only one vehicle is allowed.
