Can you stay in AKL as concierge for one or two nights and then switch to a different hotel for the rest of the week?

::yes:: That is just what I am thinking about doing...and have done other split stays before. (There are no dumb questions) Well I have read some strange questions..

Well sure! :) You can stay in a different resort every night of the week if you want. ;)

That would work out great for us. We are already planning a second "in between" trip for sometime between Jan 05- Nov 05 and want to stay at AKL concierge to do the sunrise safari, so maybe 1-2 nights, but are concerned we might not get a savannah view room.

We might also want to move to a less costly hotel for the rest of the stay. Although if we end up only going 4 nights, an extra AKL night or two won't break us :)

Same reson here I want to do the Safari....if we stay Concierge I'm going to plan the day to stay at the resort just swimming and enjoying the resort. The next morning doing the safari then hitting the parks.

My husband and I split our honeymoon between concierge at the Yacht Club (4 days) and the remaining week and a half at Port Orleans. It's definitely possible to do and worth it if you're looking to save some money. To be honest, I don't think I'd do this again simply because it was a pain for us to re-pack our stuff and move over to another room - although I guess we should've just lived out of our suitcases for the first few days! If money is no object, splurge on AKL for the entire time, otherwise, go for the split.

Money isn't a major obstacle for us, if we plan it right, but We really are not resort people. We are hardly ever in our rooms except when we are sleeping/showering. I'd like to do a few nights at AKL (at least one night with a Savanna view) and be able to do the sunrise, and then move to a cheaper resort and splurge that extra $$ on souvenirs and extras in the parks (tours and such) :)

We are switching resorts this time around. What about doing the less expensive resort first? IMHO, it is much nicer to move to deluxe than move from deluxe to the less expensive resort. Just a thought!! :)

You know, that's an excellent idea :)

I have found that packing into different suitcases for each segment of our trip keeps the repacking down (just toiletries).

How do you guys handle the split stays? I would think it would take you a whole day just to move all your stuff over and check into another resort. Is it really worth it?
