Dumb question...

OK, I'm very new here, so please forgive me! Here goes...what does it mean when someone "subscribes" to a thread? Does it mean that they are notified when new posts are added to that thread? If so, how do I do this?

When you subscribe to a thread - go to your User CP in the dark blue bar above you will be able to see ALL the threads that you have "subscribed to". It's a really nice feature! You can also have an email sent to you when someone posts on the same thread that you are subscribing too. I was using that at one time - but it became too many emails when everyone starts responding - Because everyone on this board is SOOO GREAT about giving their thoughts/suggestions/and ideas! Hope this helps a little bit!

First off, welcome to the DISboards!

To answer your question, yes. Click on "User CP" above and it will bring you to your profile and show you what threads you are subscribed to. I use this feature a lot so I know what threads have new posts in them. It also helps you keep track of the threads you have posted in if you post often.

There is a way to not be subscribed to a thread if you post, but I'm not familiar with it how to do it.

If you post on a thread you are automatically subscribed to it. If you want to subscribe but not post click on "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread on the right and then on "subscribe to thread" on the drop down menu. This will also be a location to unsubscribe from a thread if you want to later.
