We don't qualify for any of the freebie shuttles since we are staying at Shades of Green, and I am pretty sure we can't use FL Tours either.

What are we looking at ballpark figure for a taxi(2A) from Orlando Airport to Shades of Green? As far as I can tell from the Airport website, at least $60?

Second Dumb Question: is credit card an option for paying or are we needing to have the cash?

Only ten days out, I want to have my ducks(or is that mice?!) in a row.....

Thanks in advance!

Why could you not use FL Tours? They can take you anywhere a taxi can. sorry, I've never taken a taxi in Orlando so I can't help you there but I would start with a call to FL Tours and see what they say. :goodvibes
I've used Happy Limo and was able to use a credit card with them. We did tip the drivers in cash though.

You can use Florida Tours, but also you can use a taxi. The taxi will run you close to $55.00 to the Shades. All taxis from Orlando International are required to take credit cards. There is vehicle-for-hire transportation that will charge you between $90.00 to $100.00 to get to the shades. Most of the vehicle-for-hire companies will take credit cards and you will pay them the round trip amount when you arrive at the resort. You find the vehicle-for-hire information on the web or the airport website.

To avoid any confusion - the taxi fare in the above post is one-way, the car service cost is round-trip.

Dumb Question Number 2: okay, so I was wrong about FT, but now confuzzlement reigns. is SoG considered "other Disney resort" or MK Resort" for purposes of reserving a slot? yes it is only a ten dollar difference, but that's a pin or something, you know?!

I have emailed, hoping for a response in the next day or so. I hate being on hold....

thanks for the advice so far!

I'm hoping this will help. In the past, I've used Orlando Hospitality Alliance. The prices were reasonable - they actually only charged for the return trip and not round trip, but you do have to pay for the return trip at the time you take the trip from the airport to the hotel.

Their number is 407-363-4642. I can't guarantee that they are even still operating, because I haven't used their services for my last two trips - I used Magical Express.

But, it's worth a shot. They were extremely nice people to deal with and I remember being tickled pink with both their service and the transportation price.

I hope they're still around! Good luck!

Shades of Green is considered a MK resort. It's a great resort, and well worth the extra trouble of hiring a towncar, or getting a rental car. The rooms are large, the pools are nice, and if you like ice cream DEFINITELY check out the ice cream parlor. It's inexpensive, and great!!!!!!!!!!

BTW...any towncar service should take you to SOG. It might be worth looking into a rental car for the week - easy transportation from airport to hotel and back, AND the convenience of using the car throughout the week.

Ice cream:thumbsup2 meesa loves Ice Cream!. since we aren't planning on going anywhere but the resort, I figure unless renting a car for the entire week is cheaper than a RT service, we'll just stick to the TC service.

Last time I was at SoG was before the renovation, and DH's Boss just came back from there last month and said it was amazing. I can't wait!

Now all I have to do is figure out his deployment schedule so we can plan for HK Disney or EuroDisney next.... yeah right.. a schedule?! who am I kidding?!:lmao:

I was able to secure RT for $95 with Legacy. cheapest of all the ones I could find.

Thanks for all the advice/help!

We have used Sunraytransportation the last few trips. They were the most reasonable we could find and Bob and Roger were great. Very friendly. Immaculate vehicles---and they dealt with the crazy group of 29 we had at different hotels, different groupings, some one ways, some round trips. We also used them for our family unit and same great service. One of the little guys, but I think they try harder! If you do a search here, you can see more reviews. Also, if you mention mouseforless you get a discount. Hope that helps! Have a great trip!

Oh, I think the discount was $10 off r/t so it would be $80 r/t. They don't take credit cards though but will do a free grocery stop if you need it. If you do use them, tell them Lisa from Ohio says hello!
