Dumb Question re iPod

DD is asking Santa for an iPod - I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THEM. Do you pay for the songs that are on there? How do the songs get on there? I'm thinking you have to download from your PC, is it hard? Are there alot of plugs? I feel so silly asking all this, but I am clueless and she has her little heart set on this.

You download itunes from apple - http://www.apple.com/itunes/
and you connect the ipod to a USB port on your computer. You can import music from the CD's you already own. You just put the CD in your CD drive and itunes will create files out of them and put them on the ipod. You can also purchase music on itunes. Songs are 99cents usually and albums are usually around $9.99.

Yes, you download the songs from your PC (or MAC). The songs I have I uploaded from CD's DW & I own. I have purchased a few from iTunes ($.99 ea). There should just be one cable to link your PC to the iPod. I went out and purchased the mobile charger which will either plug into the wall at home or into the cigarette lighter in the car.

So I can get all her High School Musicals, Cheetah Girls and NOW series and just copy them to her iPod. Yeah! Is it easy? (it sounds easy)

Trust me when I saw that if I can figure it out, anyone can lol. You put your cd in and after Itunes pops up, you'll see a button in the right hand corner that says upload cd or copy cd or something. After that you'll see the songs in your library and you click and drag it to the IPOD plugged in. You can also delete songs on the IPOD if you want to make room for other stuff by highlighting the song and hitting either delete or backspace.

When you purchase the IPOD, whatever size you get it has the directions and cd in that you need.
