DO you pay when you check in to the resorts or do you pay when you checkout like a normal hotel?

I'm remembering you pay 1st - but I just can't remember for sure....

If you have a room only, you can wait until arrival to finish paying. If you have a package you must pay it in full 45 days before arrival.

When you check in they will swipe your credit card. However the charge will not be placed until you check out. They swipe it to verify that it is valid. You will get a statement on your door the morning you are leaving which will show what it being charged

Ahh thanks - then we can use a differnet tender at the end if we choose? Like in a regualr hotel? I'd rather pay cash - if they'll do it that way....

Thanks! DH and I were just talking about this last night! You've cleared it up for us.

According to my credit card statement from our last trip, this is not true. We checked in on 1/4/08 and the balance for the room was charged on 1/4/08. The room charges were separate and billed on 1/7/08, the day we checked out.

They do provide a statement when you check out, but if you look at it, I'm pretty sure it shows 2 credit card billings - one when you check in for the balance and one for your room charges when you check out.

We had a room only reservation through a travel agent, with the one night deposit paid in advance (I think that's standard for room only). Anyway, when we got there (POFQ) we paid for the room at check in and then left a credit card imprint for charging privileges at the parks, which were charged when we checked out. The big reason I remember this is that my credit card was declined at check-in, and I about had a panic attack. I had to call the credit card company from the resort front desk, only to find out that their satellite had been down for 30 second. The desk clerk re-ran the card and it worked fine, but that's the big reason I know the room is paid for at check-in!

For a room only, they charge the balance due on your room the first day that you check in.

If the reservation is room-only, then you pay a one-night deposit, with the remaining balance due when you check-in. They charge you then for the room. For charging other purchases during the rest of your trip, they can swipe your credit card for verification, but they will not place a hold or charge anything. You will be given a charge limit, which varies by resort type (I think it's $500 for Values, $800 for moderates and $1000 for Deluxes). If you go over that limit you can tell them to make a charge to the card or pay in cash, and your limit will be restored. At check-out, you'll get a statement on your door. You can choose to charge it to the card on file, or use another method of payment.

You can also choose to leave a cash deposit, and your charges will be deducted from it as you go along.

We made a room only reservation for January, and paid the deposit at the time of booking, and they said when we arrrive, then they charge your credit card for the balance due (but as someone stated previously, the charge doesn't actually go through until you check-out).

I always prepay my room only ressie before I arrive so I can pay cash (i.e.; ATM) and then not have to worry about it upon my arrival. . .Then I just leave a credit card for purchases. . .

I had to change my room only reservation date yesterday. I had already made my 1st nite deposit. I asked the lady if I could "prepay" the remaining nights stay before I actually checked in and she said absolutely no problem there. But had I reserved this Online I could not prepay.

She said i could either leave a credit card on file when I arrived for room charges or I could leave a Cash Amt from which charges were made.
