How do you get the AP discount on a resort if you don't buy the pass until the day you arrive? Only the person checking in needs one right?

You simply ask them for the Annual passholder rate. then you must show it when you check in which means either you have ordered one and have a voucher or you stop at a park go to guest services, [which is outside the entrance gates] and buy one. Voucher is easiest, and you have been able to activate them at guest relations at DTD, but not clear if you still can or not.

SOMETIMES THEY ASK TO YOUR AP WE NEVER HAD TO SHOW ARES DEPENDS ON THE CM JUST HAVING THE VOUCHER IS OK AT CHECK IN::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

You can't get an AP rate until the AP codes come out, right? How far in advance do they come out?

Actually, you don't have to show the AP or voucher at initial check-in. They will give you 24 hours to do so.

Thanks! So if an ap discount code comes out, you can call and have it applied to your existing reservation without purchasing the ap until you are sure that the discounted price is available for the room and resort you have already booked? That sounds too good to be true, LOL.
