Dumb math question regarding my upcoming trip...

On the paper I got from Disney reservations, it says that the total for my trip :

2 adults, standard room, Pop Century Dec 2 - Dec 5 is $718

Yet when I go on the Disney Web site it says the total is $726

I'm surious, because I have already paid a $200 deposit and am trying to figure out if the $200 comes off the top of the $718 (or $726) or if the real price is $200 PLUS the $718/726.

Does anyone know on the spot on the reservations sheet they mail to you, where it says :

Total : $718
Deposit due : March 22 04
Total Oct : 18 Oct 04

Whether the Total they have listed is your price minus the deposit left when you booked the ressies?

It would be SO nice if the $718 was the total all togther and we only had $518 to go...

Because all these months I have been saying we each owed $359 left, but this would actually mean we'd each only owe $259

But I don't even know where they got the $718 in the first place...

Help!

I beleive they send the confirmation letter with the total due and do not subtract what you've already paid on the letter. I could be wrong though....

Why is your total so high?

I'm assuming you have the dream maker package (it would be less for just the room). I just checked on disneyworld.com, the total for a dream maker package for 2 adults at Pop Century in a standard room for Dec 2-5 is $726. So, that would be your total, not your balance due. Hope this answered your question :)

:o didn't even think about it being a package. I'm used to booking room only ressies

Don't worry, Poohgirl. I was sitting here having a stroke that she was paying that much for 4 nights! LOL

Yup. We're doing the package. We plan to go to PI every night, and we want to do Leave a Legacy, and spend a little time at Disney Quest.

We are the sort of weirdos who can get up at 6 am and stay up till 2. We did that almost every day on our last trip with no problems. :)

I want to see about adding a room only night instead of checkig out on the 5th. I hope we can do that.

I don't see why not. We got the dream maker package for seven nights, and room only ressies for 3 nights so we can spend a few days at US/IOA. You shouldn't have a problem, just make sure you request the same room :)

Yay! I just called and they said that they did get my deposit and I only owe $518. Yay!

Normally we wouldn't bother with a package, but this time we want a lot of what is offered with it. The only thing we won't use is the water parks.

DD and I had a package a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly the final balance due was minus the deposit. I will have to do some scrounging around tomorrow and see if I can find the original paperwork. I tend to be a packrat and I may just still have it. If you are not sure just call Disney and ask them the balance that you owe.

That part is easy. A couple of years ago, we got great rates at the Contemporary and decided to get the Unlimited pass with it and do everything. What we did was book one night at CBR before the Contemporary, and then one night at POR after. As long as they are seperate reservations it isn't a problem. You could even book a room at Pop Century, and they might be able to keep you in the same room, although that's not guaranteed. We did the seperate resorts because we like to resort hop.

We're considering doing something like resort hopping on next years trip. We want to spend one or two nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but we don't want to stay there the whole time, so we'll probably end our trip with AKL and do Pop or our off site time share the rest of the time.

We don't spend much time in the room or resort, so spending all that $$ on a deluxe is just not worth it for us.

Now if only time would speed up a little bit and make it December so I could be on my way to Pop...
