Dumb magic band question

Believe it or not, I've tried googling first.

I did things in this order:

1) booked hotel only through orbitz

2) created MDE account and linked reservation, magic bands ordered

3) several weeks later, bought tickets directly through disney (so MDE has them noted for the trip)

4) tickets have arrived (card style)

5) bands shipped but not here yet

Do I need a step 6 to link the tickets to the bands?

Step 6. Enjoy Disney!

If u see a band listed under tickets & magic bands on MDE website then you are good

It sounds like everything is linked to your MDE account. Your MagicBands provide the link to your data when tapped at the entrance and FP tapstiles. You are good to go.

Check your "Magicbands and Cards" page. You should see a picture of a ticket with the ticket number below your magic band(s) if everything is correctly linked.

Aha!! I'd only been looking at the MDE iPad app, hadn't logged into the site in a while. The picture makes it crystal clear, my cards and bands are linked. Thank you!

Well, I guess bonus question: do you guys tend to bring the plastic tickets too just in case?

Last trip I brought just the band. Didn't even get a hard ticket

Only ticket I brought was my MNSSHP ticket but still scanned my band never the ticket

In MDE my ticket is showing in My Reservations and Tickets but when i go into my Magic Bands and Cards i only see my 2 magic bands from previous visits (I am staying in the Swan this year so wont get another) but no picture of a ticket or a ticket number underneath - do i have another step to take? Thank you....

i have the same thing happening for my October trip which is also what happened last year too. Everything was fine for me last year and I expect the same again

I'd start to worry only if when your FP window opens up and you can't book that something went wrong otherwise your good

YES!!! Even though MDE showed everything linked, our magic bands didn't work at the turnstiles. It was a quick fix since we had the plastic tickets with us. The new system is extremely glitchy. Always bring hard copies when you can!
