If I call and switch the 4-7 deal for the 500.00 GC can I then turn around and use the gift card towards my hotel bill ?

It would save me about 53.00 off of my total bill.... which isn't much, but could buy a few souvies to take home!

TIA

Not sure...just a thought thought..do you have a package or room only? If it is a package I would guess no because it has to be paid off before you arrive.

I'm pretty sure that you have to have the package paid in full before you get the gift card.

oooh yes the package has been paid in full... however I charged it to my Disney Visa, so I wonder if they would then credit my Disney Visa back the 53.00?

Kind of a long shot huh?

Hmm now I am thinking about my May trip.

We originally booked WL with a 40 percent off code.

We saved 650.00.

If we drop the dining plan and use the 750.00 for dining, then we would save at least 520.00 ?

Does that make sense ?

Let me run the #s

5 nights at WL woods view rack rates 1625
2 6day PH 596

total 2221.00
our original package with the plan was 2121.00

I guess it just depends on how much we eat ? I added up what I think we will spend at each ADR ( not including CRT because I prepaid on my Visa for that one), plus CS, plus snacks and adult bevvies and tips, and got 786.00. That is assuming Mom and I don't split any CS at all. Mom and I are both light eaters, and sharers so I am guessing we won't spend that much?

Can someone confirm my logic here, or am i waaay off base.

Do you think th

Well if you are spending $2221 plus the cost of food ( $786) that would be over 3 thousand. So even getting the $750 gift card the $2121 price would be cheaper if it includes dining and all.

Well..... Just got off the phone with Disney

They said to switch to the 750.00 from the 40 percent off code, and drop the dining plan it would be 311.00!

That would be 2432!

Now the 786.00 in my last equation included the 130.00 in OOP meals we would be paying for in the Dining Plan, PLUS the 100.00 in tips we easily could spend out of pocket, plus a few adult bevvies.

The 2121.00 is including just what the dining plan covers.

So I could spend 311.00 to get 750.00 or I could spend 0 and keep the dining plan but pay 300.00 easily on extras at the parks ?

My head is spinning......

I have the same problem...

I have 5 nights, Deluxe dining and park passes at the Poly for $2800 using 40% off

If I switch to WL keep my deluxe dining and park passes the total is $2800 without using the 40% off code. But I would get at 750 gift card.

I can't decide if WL is as nice as Poly and is a $750 gift card worth not using the Monorail and staying at WL vs Poly.

If anyone has an opinion it would be greatly appreiciated.

I would switch, but that is just MHO..... But I have never stayed at Poly and this is my first Deluxe trip since before the moderates and values existed (We used to stay at CR when I was little, and then we became a FW family ). But 750.00 is a good chunk of change to have to spend at the parks..... Just saying that I don't think the monorail is worth 750.00 to me.

Thanks... I just thought we wouldn't have to get up as early to make early breakfast ADRs. I am still thinking about it. Opinions??

I would run both numbers without the dining plan ... just room and tix. That may give you a better idea of any savings. Then I would factor in the DP vs. GC. I assume you are paying between $420-$470 on the DP for two adults. If you are light eaters, you may spend way less than that. To me, if I have the cash to spend an extra $300 to get $750, it just makes sense to do it. $450 is a lot of money, KWIM? But, if I don't have the extra cash to spare, then I might leave it alone. If you don't plan on spending much on stuff at the parks, maybe you can use some of that extra $450 to add a few room-only days on to the end of your vacation?

Since I have 4 little kids, we could spend that extra $450 in an instant at BBB and PL :rotfl: It may be a little harder for adults who are going without kids. We also have the 40% discount code and I have figured that we will save more money with the GC deal, but only $150 per room on a deluxe room. Since we are getting two rooms, it is still a good savings for us. A mod would save us $245 per room, but I really don't want to have to deal with the buses with all of these small kids (my four and my sister will have her baby, too) and me being 6-months pregnant at that point.

Decisions, decisions!

We have stayed at both and liked them both. The boat ride to MK was nice and very convenient. There is also a both that goest to the CR and FW from WL.

I think to save $750.00, it would be worth the change from Poly to WL. That pays for a lot of the tips.

Or, have you considered downgrading to the regular DDP and then using the $750.00 to cover the additional meals, that you would not be getting via the deluxe?

I did consider downsizing the meal plan but then I would have to cancel 5 TS meals I have planned to accommodate the QS meals that would come with that plan.

I am driving my husband nuts going over different scenarios of packages we could change to. He said to just leave it since he didn't want to talk about it anymore. In the end we will need to cover our BBB appointment, tips and anything else we buy out of pocket.

Another option I came up with was to cancel the meal plan all together and the savings of that ($800) and the $750 gift card would be more than enough to cover expenses or would end up being about the same price. Again, I drive myself nuts.
