Dumb ? For Loews First Members

What free amenity have you asked for when staying at The HRH and RPR?I think I had cookies last time I went and I think they were pretty good but I really don't like milk (maybe they would substitue water)so I was wondering if anyone else got anything they were impressed with?

Hi Kata - welcome to the DIS !

I used to get the white wine - it was a decent bottle (full-size Mondavi- I was actually expecting it to be a little mini bottle) of wine and, at the HRH, it came with a martini glass filled with nuts. My friends got 2 beers on ice and the nuts, my kids got the cookies/milk for their room. Last few trips have been on AP rate, so no more gifts for us !

when do you get to request what u want, is it when you check in or do I need to do it before i arrive. thanks

We usually get the fruit and water. We request it when we check in. Remember, like Bjakmom said, you are not entitled to the free gift if you are getting any discount other than AAA.

We got a full bottle of white wine while at HRH 2 years ago. Last year at RPR, we got the fruit & water. The fruit basket contained a mango, green apple, red apple, orange, star fruit, kiwi and strawberries. The water was a large glass 1 liter bottle of Evian.

You can update your Loews profile at LoewsFirst.com to indicate which welcome amenity you'd like. RPR had fruit & water on our reservation last year when we arrived, which is what was on our profile. The gentleman checking us in asked if that was what we wanted. We weren't expecting to get our welcome amenity because we had booked entertainment rate. My Mom had also booked entertainment rate and got her welcome amenity as well. I guess it just depends on who checks you in.

We weren't expecting the freebies as I booked thru hotelkingdom. But on our second day they sent up wine (red) and a coconut filled with mixed nuts. It was nice, but strange as, on my loewsfirst profile, I requested milk and cookies.

I've used either an AP or Fl resident rate at my two stays and both times received the free amenity. One time was the full bottle of white wine with a coconut shell full of nuts (easily a full Planters can's worth if not more) and the second time was the cookies and milk.....3-4 LARGE cookies and a carafe of milk on ice

When I had the APH rate 2 years ago at the HRH, we got our milk and cookies. I think it really does matter about who checks you in.

From what I've read on this board it's common not to automatically get the freebie without asking for it or reminding them. When I went to the concierge desk the first night to tell them we hadn't received our Loews First gift, they just asked which one we wanted (we took the cookies and milk and they were good) and it was sent up within the hour. We could've chosen anything at that time.

Also, we noticed that no matter what newspaper you requested you got the New York Times (that's the only paper that was out in the hallway in front of people's doors). We had requested USA Today but it wasn't a big enough deal for us to ask or complain about.
