Dumb cancellation question...

I originally booked two rooms for our vacation in July and now the other family may not be able to come. How long do I have to cancel without penalty? I have been a member for years and I know they tell you every time you book a reservation but it just slips my mind. I have never had to cancel before. My UY is April so I am not worried about banking just yet.
