Duggar Baby comes home

While I don't agree with their lifestyle whatsoever, I like the Duggars. Although some (Josh & Amy to name a few) are a bit too full of themselves at times...

Looks like she went back to the hospital last week. Not sure where/how she is now:

After celebrating the release of their 19th child from the hospital last week, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar had to take her back to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock on Thursday at 3 a.m., when her vital signs began to drop unexpectedly.

"Dr. Arrington told us to never trust a preemie," says Jim Bob, quoting Josie's attending physician, Dr. Robert Arrington, co-director of the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit. "That is really true."

No more news for a week.

That's really good news.....I wonder when they'll announce they're expecting baby 20.

I am so happy that the baby is well enought to come home:goodvibes

WOW! Michelle is even stepping up and offering to help take care of her own child:rolleyes1

"I will be her main caregiver," Michelle Duggar says, "and we'll have a lot of helpers around to take turns feeding her and getting her to sleep."

The Buddies will be doing over time with the rest of the flock. I am sure Jim Bob will be sad that he won't have his daily "one on one" with mom. He really enjoyed being served by his children at a table set for two.

I hope they stop having babies now.

She's going to take care of her own baby! IT'S A MIRACLE!

:thumbsup2

They're an awesome, close-knit, loving family - with a very strong faith that guides them through any and all difficulties.. When you see how helpful, loving, and respectful their children are, you almost have to wonder if all of those who criticize them are jealous of what a great job they have done with their children..

I wish Josie and the Duggar family nothing but the best..:goodvibes

I guarantee you- that is NOT it. And you owe me a monitor because I spit pepsi out of my nose when I read that.......

:lmao:

Did you catch Jana saying "she's OUR baby?" in the episode when she & Jill got to hold Josie a few weeks back? not "our sister" but "our baby"...very telling who the MAIN caregivers are.

I am just horrified about taking a micro preemie into a house with 18 other kids. There is just no way they can keep her in the germ free environment (or close to it) she needs.
I had a baby girl at 1 pound 5 ozs (almost exactly Josie's weight). When we kept her home they strongly told us to limit any kids being around our DD for a very long time when she came home from the hospital. We kept secluded for 6 months and she is now almost 14 and she has virtually never been sick.
There was a baby that got a simple cold and died the 1st month out.
I certainly hope she is out and "feeding and growing" stage now.

They have to wait longer to have sex after having boy than they do after having a girl? What's up with that?

Millions of people have raised children that don't committ crimes, use drugs or get pregnant as teens and they did so by raising their kids in mainstream society. Millions of people were raised with freedom to make choices and made the right choices. That, IMO, is good parenting. What the Duggars do is more akin to cultish brainwashing than good parenting.

FWIW, I don't think being abstinant until marriage is in and of itself an admirable trait.

:thumbsup2 Couldn't agree more!

I wonder if the Duggar parents will have any kind of inimate relationship after their baby making days are over??? I mean, I would hope so, its part of a healthy marriage.

As for the baby, maybe the older kids should take the little ones back to their other house and they can care for them while things become established in Little Rock with Josie.

I do think they're a bit over the top in everything that they do. I'm really surprise none of their kids have gone off the deep-end.

Somebody will write a book~ just wait!

The Duggars follow the Old Testament restriction (from Leviticus, I think) about having sex after a baby. After childbirth a woman is unclean  and must wait 40 days to have sex after the birth of a boy and 80 days after the birth of a girl. I don't know why a person would stay "unclean" longer after the birth of a girl, but that prohibition is something the Bill Gothard group follows.

I hope Josie is doing better. I certainly don't like the oppressive way the Duggars treat their children, but I don't like to see a tiny baby suffer.

Because women aren't as good as men in their eyes- it's disgusting. What a backwards kind of thinking- this is the 21st century.... get with it.

I wonder if the baby's exposure is considered limited since the other kids are homeschooled? If they were at day care and school and being exposed to everything coming and going I would be concerned. They aren't so although it's not a sterile environment it's def better than it could be.

Didn't you hear from that other tread, our immodesty is what causes earthquakes. Yep, who knew?!

They may not go to a school, but the kids certainly get out & see other kids/adults. Remember when their last baby came home? She ended up in the hospital with a penumoma type infection.

I kept my 29 week preemie isolated at home until she was 6 months+.

WOW! My DH and I are sinners for sure! I have 2 daughters....and 80 days it wasn't!:rolleyes1

Hopefully they will continue with using gowns and gloves and face masks around the baby, at least until she's a little bigger and stronger. If they take turns with the kids seeing her it will take a few weeks to come around to the little ones getting their turn. ;)

Umm, NO WAY they abstain that long, look how close in age so many of the children are! ;)

I just had to correct that abstinence length because it made me :rotfl2: .

Wow, with my math (9 months vs 80 days) I guess that means time flies when you're NOT having fun...

Either her or Johanna when she gets older. I have a feeling she is going to be "challanging" for Jim Bob and Michelle.

she does seem to do it an awful lot now already, doesn't she?? lol

i love Jinger and her constant eyerolling tho....i'm always cracking up when she's on.
