Duggar announcement on tomorrow's Today show!

maybe the sex of Anna's next one...or maybe another wedding on the way? I don't watch the show but I do know who the family is. There must be a kid near the age of getting married, they are all so close together.

They already announced that Anna's current pregnancy is a boy. She's due this month.

I hope they announce another wedding. ETA: I can't recall if they announced Josh and Anna's engagement on The Today Show or not.

Oh, who knows? There will be a major "announcement" if something has happened.

A quick Google says that there are rumors out that Anna, married to eldest Duggar kid Joshua, is about to produce her second blessing. Anna seems like a very good Mom, power to her.

I sincerely hope that it is an Anna "blessing," because I shudder to think that Michelle is actually risking a 20th pregnancy. Not a good plan, IMHO. She should be still focused on premie Josie's well-being. And all those other little lost kids who still need their Mom's attention.

The health problems had absolutely nothing to do with it being #19. Women having #1 have the same odds of having pre-eclampsia as she did. Don't use that as a reason, because it isn't valid.

Because of her age, Michelle Duggar is more susceptible to having preeclampsia in any future pregnancies. My problem with it is there's a greater likelihood that she could leave her existing children motherless.

pregnency effects your body everytime.. and after 19 kids.. its taking a toll on her body..she's bound to have issues...the body can only take so much

They most certianly DO have everything to do with it being #19. Every baby puts stress on moms body and saps more resources. She doesn't have adequate recovery time in between so she is more depleted gonig into each pregnancy. Add that to her advanced maternal age, multiple c-sections, and her tendency to eclampsia and that would make each preganacy higher risk than the last. It would be medically irresponsible to try to have any more at this point.

ETA: actually, the older the mother the greater the odds are that she will have eclampsia, and having had it with one pregnancy significantly increases the risk with future pregnancies.

This, this, and this. To me, I think they are terribly selfish, and there is no way you an spend quality time with 19 children. And using the buddy system....

Josie is such a cutie pie - can't believe how well she has developed based on all of the dire predictions that were being tossed around here on the DIS right after her birth..

I bet Anna had the baby. I know I read online that Josie was in the hospital recently. She spiked a fever and had a seizure (parents were out of the country, the oldest kids saved her).

I can only pray that after baby #19 almost died, they had the good sense not to ry for 20. I hope for the DIL's sake she is not preggers agian. If one of the older ones is getting married, well, mabye she will have a chance to escape this lifestyle. I highly doubt that will be allowed uintil the little ones can take care of themselves however. No free baby sitting if they get married and get out.

I have never seen the show, so I must ask. Has she ever given any indication that she wants to "escape" this lifestyle? Certainly the DIL knew her husband's (and his family's) beliefs before going into the marriage. I mean I've never seen the show and I know who they are and what they believe. Are the marriages pre-arranged? (The families I know do not have pre-arranged marriages.) Is there anything forcing them into a lifestyle from which they must escape?

Again. I don't understand why it is so sad. It isn't a choice I would make, but it isn't up to me to dictate the choices that family makes. Also, should something happen to the mom I would not have to live with the consequences, and I am sure they understand those consequences. Frankly, I admire anyone who sticks to their convictions -- especially when it is hard to do so -- even when I do not share those convictions.

Also, I know 3 "quiver-full" families, and they are all lovely people with extremely nice and caring children.
