Dug the Dog at DCA if Redwood Creek is closed (October)?

I apologize if this was already asked somewhere else. We are going to Disneyland October 21-26....so far the park hours (and refurbishment info, etc.) is posted on DLand's site up through 10/23. I see that starting on the Monday, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be closed, and I don't know yet for how long (I'm assuming probably the rest of the week, and that could be all the weekdays - we head back to Colorado on the Friday). It is open on the Sunday, 10/21, but that is our arrival day and I don't know what time we'll be getting into the parks if we even make it into a park that evening.

Dug the dog from "Up!" usually has a meet'n'greet near the entrance to that attraction (just inside, usually, from what I heard before) - and my DD7 really wants to have her picture taken with him. Where does he meet people (if he still does) when that attraction is closed? She has already met Russell, the day in December we waited around for Dug (because we then caught Russell's little show and she met him afterwards). Dug never showed up that day - we kept checking with CMs until they finally said he was "at the vet's."

For anyone who has been there to meet Dug when Redwood Creek has been closed before, what happens? Can we still plan on meeting him outside the attraction or elsewhere at DCA? Thanks in advance if you can advise. I don't know if Dug will still be appearing at WDW the next time we go there (2014) so it would be great to meet him at DCA next month if we can.

Also, if you happen to know....if Dug is at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail for meets on the Sunday, how late do they do these meets? If we didn't get into the park until 5:30/6 pm would that be too late to find him still doing meets?

And now I know the closure period is from 10/22 through 11/8, for Redwood Creek Challenge Trail - the rehabs page was updated on this site.

Any Dug meet experts out there who can answer OP? TIA.
