Duffy Bear Adventures

HEY EVERYONE!!! I just wanted to share with you a new website that I am currently in the process of launching as we speak

Duffy Adventures is going to be a site where people can submit their short stores, location and photo of places Duffy has been; pretty much where you or your kids have taken him!! I think it'll be a neat way for kids and just anyone interested in general to see all the adventures Duffy has been on since the whole thing with him is that he's an adventure bear!!

If you are interested in submitting your photo and story to the new site (with full credit of course!) then just email a photo and the info below to: NewAdventure@DuffyAdventures.com

A * means please include this info. If there's no * by it then it isn't needed if you don't want to include it

My boys both have plans to spend some of their savings on a Duffy bear next month at WDW, so we will be sure to post some pics when we get back!

Duffy was all over Epcot when we were there a few weeks ago. We didn't know what he was. I'll have to read up on Duffy - is he just a new character for Disney?

Nope he's actually been around for quite a while in Tokyo Disney. He's as big as Mickey there

Cool! I have a site for My Duffy the Disney Bear that has captioned slide shows of his adventures at Epcot and his Disney cruise, as well as Duffy info and more. I got him at the WDW passholder preview in September. Now I'm anxious to buy more costumes for him (So far he only has two) and to take him on my next cruise in early December. Adventures with Duffy can be great FUN!

Thanks, but since I'll be putting it all on his site I think I'll just continue with that. However, I'm going to be adding a separate page for links to personal Duffy sites that owners have created. If you join Duffy's Den (You and anyone else with a Duffy the Disney Bear), your Duffy site will be added to that page. Note: It is not required to have a website to join Duffy's Den. It's just a "Duffy fan club" of Duffy "keepers" (owners).

I look forward to watching your Duffy site grow and evolve! Great idea!

Duffy is basically the same bear marketed a few years ago as My Disney Bear, but with a name and a backstory (Minnie put him in Mickey's duffel bag so he would have company and something to remember her by when he was traveling). He's HUGE in Japan. Now they want him to be HUGE in the USA.

Apparently in Japan, Duffy also has a girlfriend named Shellie May. She looks just like Duffy but with eyelashes and a big bow on her head.

I'm planning to be going a lot of places in the coming year, but not with a Duffy, I think I will resist.

The ORIGINAL also had a backstory - Mickey Mouse was alone in the park with his teddy and feeling lonely, so Tinkerbell made the bear come to life. At the end of a great day when Mickey hugged him, the Mickey face was imprinted on him. He was not "Duffy" then (was named that in Tokyo), but yes, physically he's the same as the old "My Disney Bear," except in color. And yes - in Tokyo, Shellie May is Duffy's friend.

I will only take my Duffy to WDW and on DCL, not to non-Disney locales. Some of us like to act like a kid again and have fun with characters like Duffy. Disney is the only place I do that. To each his/her own!

I know a lot of people who are enthused and plan to purchase a Duffy. I think iKristin's Duffy Adventures will eventually have A LOT of submissions.

I do have "trip mascots" but they're not teddy bears... just too darned cute. I don't like cute. But with the amount of Duffys being carried around Epcot (and probably half by adults with no kids) I don't think the site is going to be wanting for submissions.

I'm an adult with no kids lol, I take any submissions for adventures But I'm only 24, I only take him when I travel as a snuggle buddy in bed haha. I don't take him out and about, but this site is really something I'm hoping to get younger ones to submit info for!

iKristin - I'm an adult with no kids (never wanted any!), married but long-distance hubby while I'm looking after my mom. I'm A LOT older than you - haha - but although I love all the attractions at WDW, the characters are my main reason for visiting. I even try to visit on days when my "friends" are working.

BTW - I see that you are in Oregon. My "other home" (that I rarely get to nowadays) is in Idaho. I was born and raised in Southern California and used to go to Disneyland every weekend, hence my "attachment" to Disney and characters.

Nice I was born and raised in So Cal as well! I have only lived in Oregon for the past 2 years, just accepted a transfer position in Oklahoma for my job though. Gotta get to the city fast!! haha
