Dues Question ??

I am not going to be around when I get my bill for my annual dues at OKW. Does anyone remember what the bill says regarding payment? I think it says something like the payment date is Jan 15th and there is a 30 day grace period?? Just what is it anyway? I don't plan on being home until February rolls around. Thanks in advance.

If memory serves me right, you have to pay before Feb 15th (maybe the 14th) to avoid late fees. Also, if you're staying on points between Jan 1 and Feb 15, you have to pay your dues prior to check-in.

Empty Nester--Thank you very much for that additional info on staying there from Jan1 and on. That is exactly what I am doing and I thought I would just pay the bill when I got back. I will not be doing that now. Thank you very much again.

"Payment is due in full by 01/15/04, and considered past due the earlier of check in at any of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts or after 02/14/04."

I'm not 100% sure how the check-in part should be interpreted since it doesn't specify what check-in dates. I originally interpreted it as dates after Jan 15th? But Sharon's comment makes sense too.

In any case, double check with Member Accounting before you leave on your trip.</font>

Pa@OKW, since you will be staying at a DVC resort during the time the the dues become due, I'd call member accounting prior to your leaving on your trip.

If nothing else, they can tell you the amount due and you can pay it by check at the front desk of your DVC resort. Prior to using the monthly debit feature, we used to pay in person at OKW in January whenever we had a January trip.

First of all, I am going to do what Chuck S suggested with the idea that Emptynester may be correct also by bringing a check with me. I thought it would be of interest to all of you that this when I called bookkeeping(accounting) they told me not to worry because it is not over do until Feb 15th. I explained to the lady that I would be staying there at OKW in Jan and thought that your dues must be paid up to do that. She said, "No".
I think she is wrong and I am taking a check with me. Maybe my bill will arrive before I leave for Florida so I can pay before I leave.
Like with so many questions about DVC or WDW for that matter the rule is do not trust the MS or any employee 100 percent, in this case I am not and following the advice of Check and Empynest.
