Dues Payment Question

This has always confused me. On the MS website it says payment due date is January 15th. But it also says the past due date is February 14th.

I've always paid our dues before the January deadline. But this year I'm thinking of paying just after the 15th because that is our next credit card billing cycle and gives us an extra month to pay it off. However, I'm worried if I don't pay by January 15th that they will cancel our March trip!

Any feedback on how this works? Thanks!

You have until 2/14 to pay with no penalty. If your dues are still unpaid after 2/14, they will eventually put a hold on your account and cancel reservations.

We did lump sum for years but now have it deducted monthly from our credit card - twelve equal payments makes it easier to digest.

I wish we could do that but being in Canada we cannot it needs to be tied to a US chequing account.

But I'm glad to hear we won't be considered past due if I pay January 19th instead of the 15th!

We never make our dues payment on Jan. 15th. Wait about 1 week before PAST DUE payment date to coincide with our credit card billing statement. Wait till our Jan.Disney Visa closes so we get the Disney Reward dollars to apply.:goodvibes Every bit counts! ::yes::

Oops just checked and dues come out of checking. Sorry for the mistake.

Yes, but you have to call Member Accounting.

Just to confirm, you can pay the dues using the Redemption Card where your Disney Visa rebate earnings are transferred, but not the Disney Visa card itself?

You can pay those with the Disney Visa

Thanks for asking the question. We're in the same boat in that I'd like to get the payment on the next credit card cycle so I have one more month to pay this year. :)

I seldom pay our dues until mid-February. Never ever been a problem. (Could be a problem if you are traveling before you pay up, though).

I pay in a lump sum and have to call to do so. I prefer to wait until the phone are less busy than they are in January (when many are calling to make December reservations). I have to call because I pay using a combination of Disney gift cards, Disney VISA Rewards and a credit card.

I also have always paid in February. It's not past due until mid-Feb so no penalties if that is what you do.

We are Canadian too and usually pay by credit card (we are actually paying by check this year as we have funds in our USD bank account with CIBC). We never pay before Jan 15th. When I pay by credit card, I do it a few days before Feb 15 to give it time to clear. I figure there is no point paying more interest than I have to!
