Good to know the rooms are done, but common areas of the tower itself would be part of the timeline & budget. I agree if it’s the greater contemporary property/main building that’s a different story. BLT is very much its own thing. Unless the timeline is right on schedule and they just extended it to cover the next phase (lobby, etc) which could be the case too.

Since I think that some CR work is also being done outside of rooms, I wonder if it is a matter of coordination with the contractors so both BLT and CR common areas were done at the same time?

WiFi infrastructure….. and Grand Cal can’t event get new shower heads..

I was back at the grand cal this weekend. This time I noticed even more. There was so old light up light switches where the light inside the switch constantly flickered on and off… usb in the rooms is horrible. The TVs at AKV are more up to date and they haven’t even gotten the referb yet.

I would go through Member Services chat and ask them where to send complaints about the condition of the recently refurbished room and document your findings.

It was really weird that after I cleaned it and scrubbed it that it still came back after the end of the trip…

How long ago? I wasnt aware of water and snacks were there any longer. I still may not make the trek for that but nice to know that is still an option.

I think they were in "COVID operations mode" about two years longer than the rest of the world.

Yes, we bought 5, one at a time. At least one person reported buying 10.

I think Disney was the slowest business to recover from 2020. Maybe by design.

As far as the Grand Californian, it was nice, but overall disappointing for the price we paid. To be honest, the Little Mermaid rooms in Art of Animation were in better condition. Housekeeping at GC was terrible. Art of Animation was much better. Of all the resorts we stayed at, we rated GC as..meh.

You should be sure to fill out any surveys letting DVC know that. Or send an email to DVC with your thoughts.

Back to the main thread topic, do we think we're getting dues info this week? I was looking through dvcnews.com history and seems like they ran their story on dues on 11/21 last year. So, maybe this week? I've started to check the condo news section of my DVC account the same way I would check for resale points to be loaded .

We’re waiting eagerly too. We have a stockpile of DGCs but we want to know how much we’ll have left after dues, to use on our December trip to WDW.
