OK so i believe i saw people post before about using gift cards to pay dues and if you use your target redcard you save 5%.

Ok so if you spend 75 dollar on black friday target gives you a 20% your next purchase from December 1st to 7th. Can you buy disney gift cards? does anyone know anything about this or have done something like this in the past? If it works i am going to load up for some dues and my next trip in may.

Target classifies Disney Gift Cards as merchandise which is why the discount applies to them. The 5% Red Card savings and any other discounts should apply to any Gift Card except for Target Gift Cards.

I had a $15 off $150 coupon for Target and used it to purchase Disney "entertainment" cards. Unfortunately, the sale was "red flagged" and did not go through until a front supervisor approved it. The supervisor did not know I purchased $150 in cards; she only saw the total amount on the screen. Other Dis'ers have reported a similar experience where Target coupons couldn't be used to purchase Disney gc. YMMV

Personally, I would not count on 20% off on the cards, but it would be nice. I have a trip planned for January and DVC dues to pay. I could really use the discount.

My daughter is a Target employee. She checked already for me and apparently on the fine print, the Black Friday 20% coupon doesn't not include gift cards. :( You can combine your 5% red card and the 5% pharmacy rewards for a total of 10%. Yes you can pay off your dues with the Disney gift cards. :)

Disney 'gift cards' are classified as entertainment cards in targets system so they shouldn't be excluded.

I purchased Disney Gift cards both in the store and online when they've run similar promotions. The entertainment cards (such as the Disney gift cards and the itunes gift cards have always qualified. In my experience, when people get told no, it's because of an individual's interpretation of the coupon/offer, because the registers are programmed to accept entertainment gift cards as a qualified purchase. Only the target gift cards are excluded.

Some customers do have problems, but they are usually the result of some type of flag due to a billing issue, credit or single transaction limit or other "alerts" built into targets' system.

We have been told no in the past. However, when the cashier scanned everything, we did receive the discount. We will be going tomorrow to pickup some essentials to get the coupon.

I got the 20% coupon this morning. The exclusions listed on the coupon includes gift cards, iTunes cards, Apple, Bose, etc. We plan on trying to use it for the Disney cards. We probably can't get there until sometime next week, so hopefully someone here will post if it worked or not.

Earlier this week, target was still classifying disney gift cards as entertainment so they should work.

We will be using a coupon early just in case they have fewer gift cards. I will post our result.

I got the 20% off coupon when buying 2 $50 Disney cards. Cashier forgot to give it to me, but went to Customer Service and they tore one off at their register for me. One comment ...

On my Target receipt the category on top left was "MISC" and the coupon specifically excludes iTunes and not Disney.... We shall see....

My husband tried and the cashier even rang it up and scanned the coupon. No discount in Disney cards.

I tried too - same result. I actually asked the cashier before she started ringing them up and she thought the 20 percent would be good. Oh well. It was worth a try.

We had success, but it required a manager override. Maybe because we do a lot of shopping at Target to the point the manager recognizes us. Doubt it will work at most stores. Seems Corporate HQ caught onto the loophole that has been used in the past.

Couldn't have been due to all the people calling corporate target and also arguing with store managers even prior to getting the coupon, could it? :rolleyes1
