dues-gift cards

First of all, using an employee discount for someone else is a fire-able offense. I wouldn't ask a friend to do that for me. Second, the employee discount stopped working on gift cards this past March at the same time as the Pharmacy Rewards coupon, so it's a moot point anyway.

As for them "allowing" the 5% Red Card discount; that isn't really something they "allow." It's automatic when you swipe your card. There isn't any employee intervention there. Did it not work when you swiped your card, or did they just tell you it wouldn't work?

Well it's not fireable if THEY buy the cards for me !Call it a gift ! I give my buddy a check after. (loophole?) No offenses created !!
My previous post , which you did not read apparently, stated that the Redcard , on a previous attempt to buy , would NOT apply the discount . So todays actions were a surprise since the two Targets in question are about 2 miles apart. One "allowed" the discount(automatically) and one did not .

I wasn't trying to be argumentative, but, yes, even if you try to call it a loophole by saying it's a "gift" and you just happen to give a "gift" of cash in the exact same amount, it's the intent that matters and it is a fire-able offense. People lose their job for sharing their employee discount every day.

I did read your previous post, and, in fact I studied it intently for details before posting my response. You said "they" didn't "allow" the discount. You made no mention of going through the steps that should automatically apply the discount to your order. Many people have reported being told that the discount would not apply, but it's not "they" who apply the discount; it's the system. There should be no "they" not any "allow" when receiving the discount. It's still not clear if you actually swiped your card at the location where "they" did not "allow" the discount.

I would never take an employees word that no discount would apply. Yep card was swiped and no discount came off. Puzzling for sure.
I understand what you are saying about the employee discount but it was offered to me two years ago and I graciously accepted. With the redcard-employee and pharmacy discounts I saved 18% off my dues . How could I NOT graciously accept ? I bought lunch :thumbsup2
Frankly I would do the same for a friend !
I am going to go back and get my 5% savings for dues this year since I can't find a better deal anywhere.
