I faxed in a lot of gift cards that I had received as gifts to accounting to go towards my dues....that was on January 4th. As of today the 16th they have still not been processed because they are so backed up. Has anyone else had this happen?

I sent mine in via fax on the 7th. I called on the 14th because they still hadn't been processed. They said that there was a note on my account that the fax was received and they were in progress. Today, I checked and my balance shows that they have all been applied. I think they were just really backlogged with a lot of people paying with gift cards. It sure would be nice if either 1) Target would sell $100 or $500 gift cards and/or 2) Disney would allow you to call and consolidate multiple card values onto one card.

I did the Target GC thing as well. Wish they would sell the cards that you can put your own amount on!!

Faxed my list of gift cards Monday the 13th. Followed up yesterday with an e-mail to make sure they received. They answered first thing this morning and said they received them and would be applied to my account by Friday.
System works pretty well.

Do you just fax member accounting with info (with the fax # given when calling 800#) or do you call first to let them know you are faxing over gift card numbers?

Yep that's the number. I faxed first and then followed up. Planning on doing same in about a month :sad1: Not fond of dues but I knew what I was getting into and DVC is still a big $$ saver for us.:)

I agree that it is a bit of a PITA to fax/call in all those gift cards, but I am so thankful that they accept them for payment. With all the different ways to get free and/or discounted Disney gift cards, it really makes the DVC investment more affordable:goodvibes.

When you fax in the card numbers, do you have to include the PIN for each one, or just the card number?

Good question so I pulled out my file to be sure. I faxed just the card number and the amount the card was worth. They were all 50.00 cards except the last one where I stated how much for them to take since dues weren't an exact number. Simply put our name and contract numbers on same sheet and bingo !

Does anyone know if Target is doing the for every 3 you buy you get a 4th free? Not sure if they did it last year but they did in 2013,2012.You just needed the coupon for it.

Antony try to use the Disney vacation Account to pay yet?

Same

It was a pain scraping the code protected strip off the back of 50 some gift cards though - they will need the full#. This year I won't have quite so many since I've done the Kroger loadable ones that will have s few hundred dollars on them instead of all 50s.

The CM in accounting recommended I called back to verify they received my fax a couple days after faxing. I think it ended up taking them at least a week to apply, they were being so inundated with gift card payments.

You cannot use the Disney Vacation Account to pay DVC dues....at least they didn't let me last year when I called.
The DVA FAQ actually lists it specifically as not allowed. But, since the account number works like a gift card number, I might give it a try anyway. That's why I asked about including the PIN/Access Code earlier. If you just send in the DVA account number as a gift card, it might work.

Bad News here in Illinois anyway. My friend who purchased thru Target all my Disney gift cards for my dues last year just tried for me today and.......:faint: they have CHANGED the rules and no longer allow both Employee discount and the Red card discount on prepaid "other" cards. He was in line with all my cards and discount was NOT being taken off so manager came and confirmed new rules. Later looked it up on website.
Soooo anybody have any other way to get good discount ?? Can always charge to my Disney Premium credit card and get 2% back but doesn't quite have that kick as 15% I got last year.
Anybody ?

Do you have any Kroger grocery stores that sell gas? If you have a Kroger+ card where you earn points on your purchases, you can purchase Disney gift cards and those dollars translate to points. On most gift cards (Disney included), you get double points, so purchasing a $100 gift card will give you 200 points credit. That translates to 20 cents off a gallon of gas on your next fill up (max 35 gal and $1 per gallon discount). Several times a year they offer 4x fuel points on gift cards. So when they ran the 4x fuel points this year, I purchased enough for my 150 points at BLT ($760) which gives me 3 fills ups at a $1 off. If the two gas cans are empty and both vehicles are under a quarter, I use the entire 35 gallons and get $35 off my fill up. This equates to a 14% discount. But it's a little more work to get this type of discount but it adds up. When we went last fall, I had $800 in gift cards which paid for our dining. Since I was usually rounding up on the cards, I ended up with 6 fill ups @ $1 off and 35 gal.

Hope this helps.

Appreciate the info but sadly Kroger left the Chicago market long ago ! Think there are still some downstate .

This is nuts but I went to the "other" Target close to my house and they DID allow the Red Card 5% discount !:confused3 I just bought a couple cards for Christmas gifts but going to track down my buddy again and meet him there with his employee discount at the ready just in case.:goodvibes

First of all, using an employee discount for someone else is a fire-able offense. I wouldn't ask a friend to do that for me. Second, the employee discount stopped working on gift cards this past March at the same time as the Pharmacy Rewards coupon, so it's a moot point anyway.

As for them "allowing" the 5% Red Card discount; that isn't really something they "allow." It's automatic when you swipe your card. There isn't any employee intervention there. Did it not work when you swiped your card, or did they just tell you it wouldn't work?
