Don't forget. If you pay by the month from your bank account, the Jan payment comes out Monday (maybe Tuesday since Monday is a holiday). And it's a bigger payment than the rest of the year with the 2006 carryover for not enough prepaid taxes. Then the next monthly payment comes out Feb 1.

Thanks I also have the higher one marked down and then the rest of the year as well.

I have until Feb 13 to call and have it charged to my Visa. Then another month before I need to pay off that credit card. Will be about 8 reward dollars.

Already paid online for the year. Put it on the credit card and that will be paid off when it comes. Then we are ready to enjoy our year of DVC!

Pardon my ignorance on this but I have a question...I got the statements from my ontracts and it did show higher amounts for being pulled in the middle of this month. so, did they not pull any on the first? that is when I normally have it pulled. so, the amount on my statement is my total amount for Jan? and then in Feb it will go back to normal? thanks...

We pay in one lump. I find it cures me of add-on-itis very well. A large lump sum payment right on the heels of Christmas really does me in.

Is it bigger for everyone? We pay monthly and it looks like the same amount is scheduled to come out??

I did join midway through last year and my first dues payment was higher. :confused3

Yep, normally it comes out on the 1st of the month. But in Jan, they have to calculate the taxes due and figure out how much that they have to add to the Jan payment. So it comes out on the 15th instead. Then Feb 1, you get the standard payment that you get the rest of the year.

You should have gotten your dues bill last week. If you read it carefully, it says the date 1/15/07 and an amount. Then it says 2/1/07-11/01/07 with an amount and then 12/1/07 with another amount (only $0.01 less than the previous months for my main contract; $0.04 less than the previous amount for my smaller contract).

They estimate the taxes. If they come out higher, you pay more in Jan. If they estimated too high, I think you might get some back in Jan (but I thought I read from the Member meetings that they would roll this into the operating capital).

It seems like we always pay a bit more in Jan.

Thanks for the clarification! I pulled out the bill and it looks like we overpaid taxes last year by 68.00, but there's no refund so I think you are right and it must have gotten rolled into operating capital or something. :thumbsup2

**Edited to say that actually, I think I am wrong. Looks like the overpaid 68.00 was deducted from this year's dues. Can you tell I don't really pay any of the bills or do taxes at my house? Yikes. **

Yep, your right. And thanks for the reminder!:thumbsup2 I actually got the statement and put it away and didn't look at it until right now. Just noticed the increase too - Yikes!:sad1:

Now, my dues have already been deducted on the 15th of each month, so January is no different for me.

Any reason that you can think of why our dues come out on the 15th instead of the 1st for the remainder of the year?

I just checked the member website and it shows my dates as 02.15.07 - 11.15.07

Interesting...

We requested that our dues come out on the 15th since we had a loan with DVC and we didn't want the loan payments and the dues all coming out on the same day.

So our dues come out on the 15th also.

We're just the opposite. Our loan payment comes out on the 15th of each month, dues on the 1st. This month both payments will come out the same day so thanks for the reminder Deb & Bill.
