I was wondering how scary Dueling Dragons is, i really want to ride it when i go. Are there any really big drops? or is it mostly just loops and turns. If i am not bothered by rock 'n' roller coaster or tower of terror at WDW will Dueling Dragons be similar, or is it on a whole different scale as far as thrill rides go

I think it's a whole different level mainly because DD is an inverted coaster...meaning your feet dangle. Plus it's outside...that seems to bother some people.

My 12-year-old, who was previously afraid of heights and roller coasters, rode DD with no problems (he also rode Manta and Kraken at SeaWorld, and did Hulk with no worries). He conquered his fear of this stuff in Orlando! It's really not scary (my 8-year-old thrill-seeker loved it too).

Ride Ice if you want a slower, but bouncier ride, and Fire if you want a faster and smoother ride. They're not scary. A lot of the newer coasters involve dangling your feet, but they're completely safe.

If you get on all right with Rock 'n' Rollercoatser, then you should have no problem with Dueling Dragons, nice smooth coaster unlike Rock'n'Roll which always give me neck ache from being throw about.
If you want something thrilling but really smooth, then hit the Kraken at Sea World, don't be put off by the height of it!

Anyone been on the new one at Universal?

All of my children loved Dueling Dragons. They are 9, 13 and 15. Like a previous poster said, there are several "near misses" that kind of freak you out, but it is so much fun. It is now one of my favorite coasters. One time, we took the time to ride in the front seat, and that is a whole different experience all together. You get the impression you are going to hit the other coaster head on and at the last possible moment, both coasters go into a loop. That was really scary, but totally made the roller coaster. If you haven't had any problems with Rockin' Roller Coaster, I think you will be fine though. Close your eyes if you need to!

When riding in the front row, it becomes my favorite coaster of all times. Otherwise, it's like most other coasters.
