Is the drop on Dudley really that bad?
I really want to ride this, when I went before it was closed.
However, I don't like flume rides, particularly the drops, as I don't like not having anything holding me down.

At least with Jurassic I was able to brace myself and hold onto the bar (of the person sitting next to me) for dear life.
The whole car was laughing at my picture afterwards but at least I felt "secure" going down the drop.

There are grab rails on the sides to hang on too.
You have to try it at least once.

Yeah, I know. That's the thing with those flume rides, all you have is the side bars to hold onto. I don't feel secure having only that to hold onto especially when the drop is so steep.

They changed the drop angle this year, so I'm guessing it's better now than in the past, but then again, I've never had a problem with it

I would absolutely recommend riding it! Just remember..you WILL GET SOAKED so be prepared and either bring extra clothes to change into or walk around wet all day! :umbrella:

They only made a change to the upper part, it's still a steep drop. It still goes from a 45 degree angle to a 55 degree.

Its over before you know it and lots of fun. They give you a fake drop to fool you, and the real drop comes later. Its lots of fun, so give it a try.

What's your definiton of better? The way they have it set up at the bottom, the only change they could really have made to the drop is making the top half slightly steeper than it already was. I don't think they'd even want to make it less steep. I don't see the point in that. Nobody was falling out. From what I've heard, it wasn't changed at all, they just replaced the track.

I love it, but if you don't like drops it is one of the steeper ones I've been on.

DH & I thought this ride was incredible. Although the theming on SM beats it, the drop cannot be beat for shear excitement. We had poncho's on but still got absolutely soaked and loved it, glad we scheduled it for late in the afternoon.

I will add that my DS, 11 yrs old, hated the drop portion. Not sure whether it was getting soaked or the fact that being smaller, he slid around quite a bit on the ride, he thought for a moment he might fall out.

I've slid around on that ride, and I'm 5'9". The logs could use some more dividers.

Wish I could say I had room to slide around, I'm 6'2" and a bit chubby. Can't ride it because I don't fit, due to leg room

Take a ride on it. Get wet and cool off on a hot summer day. If you are tall, you might have some problems fitting into the ride. I have a friend who is over 6 feet tall and he has trouble sitting in the front. It's a tight fit.
Yeah, your legs get jammed, I'm 6'2" or so and had a rough time, with guys alittle bit shorter than me (not by much) .. we rode twice, though, sadly. I won't be getting on the ride again, though.

Try it. You'll love it!

The drop will be over before you know it. Gravity will keep you secure. I even wore my sunglasses on one ride and they didn't come off. You can hold on to the seat in front of you (there are grips in the seat to hold).

You'll get back in line to ride it again!

I avoided this ride like the plague the first 2 days I was there. It looked so fightening, but then my friends who joined me on the third convinced me to go on. The wait was terrible (over 65 minutes - wasn't staying on site that day) and the anticipation and butterflies were only just fueled as we heard the screams from other riders. BUT - when we got on, the ride was so awesome and the drop made it completely worth it. Yes, you get absolutely soaked. Note - don't wear a white shirt or shorts. Also, be prepared for the water guns at the end. But, the day was so hot that cooling off was wonderful!

Give it a try - my only regret was I didn't do it before the last day.

Definitely ride it! It is an awesome ride! I feel the ride aspect is MUCH better than Splash Mountain. I will personally take a better ride over better theming any day.

This is my son's fave ride, the first time he rode it he was 10 years old we have been back 4times and everytime we have to ride it, My daughter on the other hand hates it rode it once and never again.

Try it ~ The drop is over in seconds but you will love it.

Immediately after the drop you are going to get soaked when the ride levels out. Your brain will adjust to the sense of gushing water being sprayed on you and will quickly forget about the drop!!!

Go for it!!! You'll be back in line for more!

Yep, ride it. Great fun. Even my DS (7) loved this and made me ride it with him over and over. The drop is definitely intense, but AWESOME. Just be prepared for the "shooters" as you round the bend toward the very end. I always wish I had one of those giant super soakers for revenge!
