Reading back through another thread I saw where it was mentioned about Dudley Do Right having handicap accessibility. That's one of my very favorite rides but since the last time I've been to Universal I'm now using a wheelchair/ECV and a cane more than ever. I've been questioning my ability to get up out of the ride vehicle because you sit so low in that thing. But what's the accessible one like? Does it have a higher seat so it would be easier to stand up afterward? Anyone know?

Hopefully someone will be able to answer you, all I could see was the guide available from the Universal website and Dudley is mentioned as able to transfer form wheelchair..........page 6/7 are the pages you want.

If you dont get an answer here, maybe send off an email to guest services, they're really good at getting back to you fairly quickly.

Thanks, Schumi. I did read those pages and thought the info was rather nonspecific, although considering how everybody's needs might be different it's probably hard to publish something that offers everyone a definitive answer. I'll have a crew of family to help me through the process of anything I choose to ride but it would be nice to know ahead of time what the options are.

There is an ADA log. One, I believe. My husband requested it because he's a bigger guy and had to wait for it to come back around. His arms are very strong, but it was a pain in the behind to get OUT of that log for him. I'm not sure how great that log is, for people with disabilities...

Yeah, if a person can't get back out of it then what's the point of making it handicap accessible. I guess we'll see what happens. I don't mind being challenged a little, especially with family around to help, as long as I don't discover an embarrassing video of me posted on YouTube by some anonymous stranger :)

I did email guest services but suspect I won't have a clear picture of the setup without seeing it myself. Thanks all.

Update:
This morning a very friendly-sounding TM named Kelly left me a voicemail while I was out. She confirmed that, yes, there was a modified ride vehicle which has a back seat that can be raised up during the loading/unloading process and is lowered back down for the actual ride. She said to be sure to ask for the ADA modified seating when we get to the point in the queue where we're asked how many in our party. So we'll see if this works for me. Yay!
