I wish I had a pic but Standard View at the Animal Kingdom Lodge! We faced A WALL! It was so big, you couldn't even look over it.
Oh my goshness. That's a nugget of a view. Makes me feel like a teenager trying to sneak out of the house at night.I stole this image from someone else here on DISBoards. The view is so bad I actually laughed (sorry)

At first I liked those first floor rooms, until just that, the privacy thing... keep on moving folks, nothing to see in here. We had a top floor at Boardwalk about ten years ago, babies, toddlers in tow, the view was great overlooking the Boardwalk, but back then during the day we would go back to rest in the afternoon. There would be marching bands passing by under our balcony, small parades. Just when you thought you had the perfect preferred view.A number of years back had a BWV boardwalk view. Had requested higher floor and received message about 2 p.m. on date of arrival assigning us a 4th floor room. At that time, we were already at a park and had left luggage at Bell Services.
Returned from park about 7, went straight to room, and could not open the door. Discovered there were already others inside who had been assigned the room after we received our assignment. Went to front desk and they tried to disclaim the assignment I had been given. I retrieved it on iPhone and they could not explain what happened. Then front desk informed me only room left open was one of the first floor boardwalk view rooms next to the DVC sales room. Informed them I wanted a higher floor but they asserted were there none, but finally, after some feverish negotiations, they promised to switch my room the next day, comped us a free dinner, but we needed to stay in the first floor room one night.
Do not have photos but those first floor rooms are an invasion of privacy. Yes, they literally have boardwalk view but they are at boardwalk level and thus you are looking directly at everyone passing by. They have porches but you cannot enter the boardwalk from those because your are blocked from exiting the porches. When curtains are open, everybody walking by on the boardwalk can look right into the room.
This one is cute, just a tad overgrown, but otherwise would make for one the decent ones at BCV. It kind of reminds me of Jurassic Park.View attachment 490144
Beach Club Villas 547 (one bedroom villa). You can see the Swan at the top of the Swan if you look carefully.
Oh good golly. This is why we drink the Kool-aid and keep coming back.My friends first visit ever as DVC members and to Wilderness Lodge (Boulder Ridge) was the dreaded dumpster view.

That's the "Vegas side" of Boardwalk Villas. We have to request the quieter side, or non-clown view, or not down the eternal hall.LOL, this happened to us once. I made my reservation 11 months out asked for high floor, BW view; we were given the very last room on the first floor next to Jellyrolls. This has to be one of the worst if not the worst room in the entire resort. All night long all you could hear was the THUMP, THUMP, THUMP from next door and when people left for the night it was beyond loud. I call the front desk upon entering the room to express my concern, I was told there were no other rooms available. Needless to say I was pretty steamed! The next morning after spending half the night listening to all the RACKET I call the front desk again and told them they HAD to give another room. I explained how I made my reservation 11 months out asking for BW view, upper floor and there should be no excuse that I would get the room I got. I didn't relent, explained that my husband had a heart condition and needed his rest, bad for his health, etc, etc. Finally I guess I wore them down because they "magically" found another room on an upper floor with a BW view. They moved us and didn't charge us a cleaning fee which they say they will if you occupy the room and then they have to move you.
This was a really bad experience that hope to never experience again. I don't know who stays in those rooms but I surly don't envy them.
I've had that same view!My friends first visit ever as DVC members and to Wilderness Lodge (Boulder Ridge) was the dreaded dumpster view.
