Dud views

Uh oh. Was going to request close to the elevator for our deluxe studio standard view!!!!

For those who have stayed (even briefly lol) on the first floor of BWV with a BW view is it window or a door that you can open and walk right out onto the BW?

We only spent one night in the room, it was awful! We had a glass door onto a small patio but no access to BW from room. These rooms were the sample rooms they used for BW. Hope this helps.

Our absolute worst was at Vero but we were only there 2 or 3 nights. We were on an upper floor and our balcony faced a roof so we had no view. On the flip side, there was a hurricane nearby so we were sheltered and could sit out as there was no wind or rain in our little fortress! The next door was the laundry room LOL!

LOL, this happened to us once. I made my reservation 11 months out asked for high floor, BW view; we were given the very last room on the first floor next to Jellyrolls. This has to be one of the worst if not the worst room in the entire resort. All night long all you could hear was the THUMP, THUMP, THUMP from next door and when people left for the night it was beyond loud. I call the front desk upon entering the room to express my concern, I was told there were no other rooms available. Needless to say I was pretty steamed! The next morning after spending half the night listening to all the RACKET I call the front desk again and told them they HAD to give another room. I explained how I made my reservation 11 months out asking for BW view, upper floor and there should be no excuse that I would get the room I got. I didn't relent, explained that my husband had a heart condition and needed his rest, bad for his health, etc, etc. Finally I guess I wore them down because they "magically" found another room on an upper floor with a BW view. They moved us and didn't charge us a cleaning fee which they say they will if you occupy the room and then they have to move you.

This was a really bad experience that hope to never experience again. I don't know who stays in those rooms but I surly don't envy them.
That sounds terrible! I don't know if that would be good for anyone's health. I would be horrified if I got that room with my littles! They need their sleep or there would be crazy meltdowns (from them and me) the next day!

Trust me it wasn't pretty when I called the front desk the next morning. At first they weren't going to move us but that just wasn't going to be the answer I would accept. In the end it all worked out. I actually had forgotten about it until I read drusba's post, it was like deja vu. :wizard:

I had that room once. The guy at the front desk actually said it was one of the best rooms. Is that a 1 bedroom or 2?

It would be a one bedroom. Based on the pictures it looks nice from the outside and I guess if you don't mind the very loud nose from Jelly Rolls at night and people looking in you window it could be a nice room for you. I found it totally unacceptable.

Thanks for the pictures, we didn't take any. I just wanted to get out of that room. The pictures make it look nice, how's the saying go? Looks can be deceiving or don't judge a book by it's cover?

Our worst view ever was at OKW (which I love) and I think it was Building 38. The entire porch was surrounded by bamboo. I mean it was right on top of the patio. I felt caged. Funny thing--the next year we got the same 1 bedroom in the same building. :sad2:

I still request Turtle Pond, but don't include #38.

I made reservation at Aulani for a ocean front 1 bedroom. I was so specific, asking a language I should know or use to make sure this was unobstructed ocean view. When we got to the room, I opened the curtain and there it was...the parking lot. If you turned your head far right, there was the ocean. Even the guy helping us with our bags said this wasn't an ocean view room. I called front desk and they kept insisting it was. I told them I was using my points for an ocean view room and not getting one. It was a lot of back and forth for a while, but we eventually got moved.

This makes me think of the Golden Girls where they have to look out the balcony and stretch far, to see the ocean, there it is, ocean view.
