I just started researching these dual screen players but it seems like none get stellar reviews. Do you guys have any experience with them? We just got a new to us car with three rows so putting the old one on the front seat armrest won't work anymore since the kid(s) in the third row won't be able to see it. We're going to Disney in 14 days so I'm hoping to find one by then.

Thanks!!

Do you plan to have them professionally installed? Dh did it himself and it took him a few hours. You have to take a lot of things apart and run wires up through the seats, etc....

We got an aftermarket one online, although it has been 6 years so I don't remember exactly where.

The dealer wanted $3K or more to add them to the car price. We purchased them for $1,200 and installed them ourselves (along with the dvd player).

We have Audiovox screens and only have two of them. They are quite pricey so we don't have them in the rear seats.

No, I just meant the kind you strap on the headrest. I figured down the line we may look into professional ones, but for now the basic ones are good.

We bought a set for our last Disney trip, in which we had planned on driving (until the van broke down the day we were to leave:rotfl:). I think it's an RCA set and we bought it from Kmart.

It didn't get good reviews -although none of them have, as you have already said - but we've had pretty good luck with it. The only issue for us so far is the need for a new wire, but that would be because of the kids. They were in the third row and pulled out the wires everytime they got out of the van.

Other than that, it's worked great for us and hopefully will for our next trip!

I got a Kawasaki set a couple years back at Target and I would not recommend it. It would stop for no apparent reason, you would have to reboot it and then start the movie over, it was a big pain. I returned it for a replacement and had the same problems so it was not just the one I bought. We have a couple of the portable dvd players, a Memorex and a Coby, and they are much better. But they are just to hold in your lap. I don't know if there is some type of contraption that would attach it to the seat. Anyway, avoid the Kawasaki dual screen for the headrests.
