How in the world did I ever live with only one monitor? Having two monitors is heavenly!!!!

I saw the title and thought I was back at work :rotfl:. I've been pricing and ordering dual monitors for my department for the last few days. Glad you like them

If my video card would support it, I'd have three!

I have two big monitors @ work - love them. At home I use my laptop w/a flat screen so I can have two monitors there, too.

I'm w/jcb - I'd have three, if I could. :)

I know the feeling, Kathy! Ditto Mary Jo!

Gotta love multi monitor, I have two 23" Samsung widescreens plus one 19" Samsung in the middle.

Sorry if it sounds stupid, but what's the reason for having two or more monitors? How does it work with one computer, or do you need a seperate computer for each monitor?

DH and I both have dual monitors in our home office....love the set up! We do brochures and postcards for our business, and it makes cutting and pasting for different events, dates, etc., a breeze. Love it!

I, personally, use two monitors so that I can have one Monitor tasked to activly monitor information that is changing/updating. The other is used for what ever applications I am working in. If i am editing audio, video, or some process that requires multiple windows, I will use the extra real estate to be able to work both apps full screen. I also use up to 4 monitors with one Keyboard and mouse. Those monitors are spanned across 3 different computers.

I use an application called Synergy that allows me to use multiple Computers/Operating Systems with 1 keyboard and mouse.

Two monitors give you more space to work with. It is very nice if you have to look at information provided by one program while you work in another application. Or you start one program doing some work while you do other things on the PC. With two monitors you can watch the program spin while you do something else.

I have two monitors at work. At the moment I have 22 windows open. One of the windows is a Remote Desktop into another system. In effect I am working on two different PCs at the moment. Before I went home last night I was working on four or five systems. Multiple monitors are kinda useful. :lmao:

At home I bought a big 24 inch monitor. When shopping I was going to by two smaller monitors but when I looked at the money it was cheaper to buy the one big monitor. If I need to I could get another monitor for my home system but the 24 inch screen is working fine so far.

To run two or more monitors you need a graphic card that supports more than one monitor or multiple graphic cards.

Once you running multiple monitors or one big screen you wonder how you ever got by with just one. :confused3:rotfl:

Later,
Dan

I've had dual monitors at work for a couple of years now and don't know how I lived without it. I get home and even though our iMac has a large screen, I still miss the second sometimes. Might have to find a way to make a second work anyway.

If all else fails, you can use a REALLY BIG monitor!

It's addicting. I feel like I work in slow motion on a laptop. Every monitor has a purpose.

@Corey, is that really necessary?
I have my macbook and a CRT that I use if I want to use photo shop (well the free equivalent), but really? five? I think I would be annoyed at that.
