DU Question - When Rates Go Down...

When rates go down due to a new code or something, do the Dreams Unlimited agents email you and let you know? I'm asking because I recently emailed DU and let them know that there was a new discount that I believed I was eligible for and I got an email back saying they would check into it and if I was eligible for it, it would show up on my reservation overview (client services). I would not get an email back saying so. I did email my agent directly.

I guess I was a little disappointed because for the last week I've had to log on to my DU account and see if the price has gone down. It has not, so I'm presuming I was not eligible. I think sending an email to me saying Yes it worked or No it didn't would have been the better alternative.

Is this what they do when new codes come out too? They don't notify you? You just have to keep logging in on your own? How hard is it to just send an email to a client saying Yes the discount was applied or no, it couldn't be applied?

Based on your countdown clock, you plan on checking in to the Poly after Feb 13th, which is when the latest set of AP or regular codes are set to expire. If codes do become available, don't worry Dreams will adjust your price!!

It wasn't a code per se...it was a Disney Club discount. In either case, will they email me or am I supposed to just guess by looking at my reservation request?

Disney Club discounts are limited just like codes aren't always available. It is possible that the rooms at the resort you've booked has already sold out it's allotted rooms for DC. DC discounts for 2003 were released in late September/early October( I can't remember!!) of this year, so it's possible that the allottment for your particular dates and resort are gone. Just so you know, I think you plan on vacation in May, again based on your countdown clock, and that is regular season. The DC discounts for that time are as follows:

Deluxe and Home Away From Home Resorts : 10% off rack rates
Moderate, Value and Fort Wilderness Resorts: 15% off rack rates

If you're really concerned, e-mail your agent again and find out why you haven't received the discount. All my interactions with Dreams have been prompt and always a correct response. If the DC discount isn't available for your resort/dates, maybe a change in resorts/dates would get you the discount you want.

One other thing, I'm sure you've done this, but Dreams needs your DC card number to check on any DC discounts. So, if you already haven't, e-mail them your number.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it's my position that I shouldn't have to keep emailing to see if a discount was applied or not. A simple email informing me that it was applied, couldn't be applied, etc. would have been a lot easier. It's the whole reason I booked with DU.

No big deal in the whole scope of things, but a little disappointing.

Are you emailing your agent directly? I always got a very quick response & good follow up from mine. I can't recall ever having been told to check my account!

I hope this is just a simple problem of the wrong person handling your email & that it can be fixed quickly!

Whenever I e-mailed my DU agent regarding a possible discount, he was always prompt with an e-mail reply as to whether or not they were able to apply to discount to my reservaiton.
