DU package vs. codes

If you book a Dream Maker package through DU, then switch your hotel reservation using a code, can you still have the Dream Maker package? Right now I have the Dream Maker package with Disney Club discount, but I may switch to a code rate once they're released. I'm just not sure if you can keep the Dream Maker package if you book your hotel with a discount code.

I don't think your can book your hotel seperately from a pacakge since pacakge is all-inclusive.

I believe, if you want to keep the Dream Maker package, the hotel portion of your package will be adjusted when a code releases. That was what happened to my Discovery pacakge when I booked my vacation through DU last year (2002). Also, your DU agent will find the best price for you and that is for sure.

So to clarify a little, when codes come out DU will adjust the package price to show the new rate for the hotel? I don't need the Dream Maker package, but if I can book it using a code price for the hotel then that's what I'll do. Is this what they usually do when you want to add UPH passes to your room only reservation?

Have you priced everything out piece by piece? It is usually cheaper to get your own passes and book room only. Everytime Disney comes out with a package such as Dream Maker, I double check my numbers and I am spending usually about $200 less than the package. But I don't usually do the parks on my arrival day and I use one day to do a water park. In my case the Park Hopper Plus is a good deal. Then, as codes come out, I can change my room ressie with very little trouble. BTW...at present my Aug trip to CBR is booked using my DC membership, but I am sure that will be changing to a cheaper rate via the codes this spring.

At first I just booked our room with the Disney Club discount. Then I asked my DU agent to add UPH passes to our reservation. When they did, my reservation became the Dream Maker package. I added up my room price and the UPH price and I am still getting them at a discount. When I saw the package, I was worried that I would have to pay rack rate for our room. This doesn't appear to be the case. I am actually hoping for a good code for CBR. I read that some people got CBR for $89/night this past May. That's only $5 more/night than ASMo with the Disney Club discount. I am praying for a code like that again.
