Does anyone know how much it is to part at DTW. We are debating renting a car to get there if it would be cheeper
We are coming from Kalamazoo...

Thanks

The economy lots and the deck by the Smith terminal are maybe $6 per day. The deck by the WorldGateway is now $15 per day. There are shuttles between terminals. You can also park offsite for even a bit less, and they also offer shuttles.

has anyone had experiace parking off site at DTW...DO you have any recommendation?
Does anyone know how ofte the shuttles run?

Thanks

I used to park with QuickPark and Park-n-Fly. The former is a bit better kept, both have decent shuttle service, but both are outdoors.

If your flight leaves on a Saturday or Sunday morning. and your trip is 8 days or less, you can usually get an outstanding valet parking rate at the Westin of about $150---includes one night's lodging plus valet parking in the WorldGateway deck for 8 days. That means you can go from your bed to your airplane without ever going outside, and from your airplane back to your car parked and warmed up for you right outside the Westin entrance---about 10 feet of "outside time".

In the winter, that's a splurge that I'm more than happy to take.

I've used Qwik Park on Merriman Rd. many times with complete satisfaction. Shuttles run 24-7. Go to www.qwikpark.com and print a coupon for one free day of parking and one dollar off for each additional day. Shuttles run non-stop. They are always waiting in the area you are directed to park in.

It will give you a list of hotels that do park-and-fly specials. I think there are a couple on the list that are around $90.00, which includes one night stay and anywhere from 7 to 10 days of parking.

When I used to live in the Ann Arbor area, I almost always used Airlines Parking (on Merriman) when I was flying out of Detroit. Ended up at US Park (on Middlebelt) once when I made a wrong turn of I-94. I found both Airlines Parking and US Park to be convenient, and the shuttles ran often enough that I didn't have to wait more than 5 mins or so.

Parked in the "Big Blue Deck" on-site once, won't do it again. Shuttle took about 20 minutes to show up

What time is your flight? If it's early enough then the Park N Fly route is your best bet. I stay at the Hilton Gardens Inn for $99, including parking and their shuttle because our flights always leave before 7 a.m.

If I were to park for that entire time it's quite a chunk of that initial $99 AND we save valuable "sleep time" so we are more rested when we hit MK around Noon! :cool1:
