Has anyone stayed in a DT Disney Hotel? How dependable are the busses? Can we (family of 5) get away with staying there and NOT renting a car? Will we be satisfied and not frustrated with the park shuttles?pirate:

You'll need to check with the exact hotel to see what their schedule is. Reading some posts lately, most will run a few shuttles in the AM, a few mid day, and a few at night. Some you have to sign up for, some it sounds like first come, first served. If you miss them you will have to take a cab as there just wont be another one that comes along to get stragglers..

If the hotel is close enough to DTD to walk to, you could hop a resort bus, then catch a park bus from one of the resorts.

We were at SSR this year, and could walk over to DTD. We used the resort transfer area at DTD quite often this time and were very pleased at how well they were running.

There were two CM's at all times radioing back to base to let them know what resort buses were needed.

I.E., going to MK, you could take a bus to GF or CR and walk over. For Epcot, take BW. For DHS, take BW, and then take the water taxi over. For A/K, take use AKL., etc.

The beauty of that is it gets complicated by having to rely on getting from parks to the resorts and back to the parks again, because you would have to keep in mind when the parks close and when the buses stop running. By leaving from DTD and going from resorts to parks and back to resorts, buses will continue to run to the resorts until all the parks are closed.

Does that make sense???? Good luck!

If the OP is referring to the Hotel Plaza Boulevard properties - they run a scheduled bus service, every half hour or every hour depending on the destination. The departure schedule from each hotel is posted somewhere public at that hotel. They run regularly until the parks close, and even later for Downtown Disney.

I'd say, pretty darned reliable.

Curious, where do those buses go? Just to TTC then you have to travel from there? That sounds almost doable if they run that often.

Each park. Granted, the MK bus has to go to the TTC, but the other buses go directly to the designated parks - including the water parks (example: Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach may share a bus, either all day or midday/early afternoon).

To clarify: there's an MK bus every half hour, an Epcot bus every half hour, a DHS bus every half hour, an AK/BB bus every half hour or hour depending on the time of day, a DTD bus every half hour or hour... I don't remember if TL is combined with a park, or with DTD, or if it has its own bus.
