We have one morning where I could fit DTD in. Is it worth going? Or skip it? Have 3 kids age 5.

Thanks!

Personally I think that with kids that age the only place that would be at all worth you going (especially in the morning) is the Marketplace. Lots and lots of stores with all kinds of things and your kids would probably enjoy some of them, espeically World of Disney. I'm pretty sure there is also at least one kids play area near the Lego store. I think its definitely worth a trip, I've always found lots of fun things to bring back with me! ;)

I love DTD but with three 5 year olds, I'd skip it and do something else. JMHO.

I love DTD especially at dusk. My kids love walking around and looking at the shops, getting snacks and just the ambience. Especially if you've never been, I would say try it at least once, get your opinion of it then for the next trip. Enjoy!!

I would definately skip it. Unless you enjoy shopping with your triplets.... Personally, you couldn't PAY me to take 3 - 5 year olds shopping if I didn't have to.
Even with a 16 yo, we rarely go to DTD, we only go now to grab a bite to eat before going to the Comedy Warehouse or Adventurers Club, neither of which I would take 5 yos to.

Way too crowded for us. We are skipping it this year. The only reason we usually go anyway is for the Rain Forest Cafe, but they have one outside AK now and anyway we have decided to skip that this year as well. DTD is FULL of shopping and can be fun, if you don't mind huge crowds. Also can be expensive with all those toy stores and they have little rides like a carosoul, but it will cost you for each child for each ride (2$ or more I think). I say go to the boardwalk. Less busy and fun to walk around and explore. They have face painters and jugglers and other entertainers. You can also rent those family bikes and ride around. Just a thought. Good luck.

I am so not a DTD person.

The shops that carry Disney stuff carry the same Disney stuff you can't get in the parks. The stores that sell non-Disney stuff are overpriced and...well, not Disney stuff, so who wants to come to WDW to buy it?

The only thing I've ever done at DTD since it's been renamed is Planet Hollywood... just once, and the AMC theater. Everything else is just filler to me.

I'd skip it and do something else with thre 5-year olds.

N.E.D.

If DQ opened early, I would say it may be worth it, but that doesn't open until almost noon.

If you want to give them a taste of a large Disney store, thereis one there. At Once Upon a Toy you can get the My Little Pony and Mr Potato Head. See below. You place as many items as you can in a box for a great price

Once Upon A Toy - A great store for kids of all ages! New Disney-themed offerings, popular Hasbro items, and classic games and toys with a Walt Disney World twist. Mr. Potato Head with colorful Disney theme park accessories, a version of the classic detective game Clue set inside Disney's Haunted Mansion attraction, Lincoln Logs, Play Dough, Star Tours action figures from the "Star Wars"-inspired attraction and more. There is even an automated package delivery kiosk to expedite service at the cash register.

SOUVENIR TIPS: For $16 you can fill a box with Mr. Potato Head body and parts!

There is a Lego shop and a playground there as well. We enjoy the stroll and the view of the lake at the Market place.

My DH and I fell in love with DTD. We have a 2 year old DD, but since we only go there to walk around and have a good time, we don't really go "shopping" there. To my DH DTD is like another park! Last year we stayed at POR and we would go to DTD by boat everynight. It was so much fun. I would spend some time down there if I were you - you never know, you might really enjoy it!!!

we always go at night. Do a little shopping/eating Wolf Gang Puck's express. DD loves Lego land. Eat a sundae at Ghiradelli's. Part of our trip wouldn't be the same without it. We also stopped for last minute souvies last day as we left. :guilty:

No interest here.

We go to WDW about a dozen times a year. And we never go to DTD. We live in a big city that has just about everything that DTD offers.

We love DTD. I think it is a nice break from the parks. But I love to shop!! :teeth: Depending on what resort you are staying at a couple have a nice boat ride to DTD. I have read on these boards that at the Goofy Candy Co, you can get slush drinks in a design your own type of cup. Your kids would probably like this. I saw pics on here and they were really cute.

I love DTD! We usually go to DTD at leat twice per trip. It's nice to walk around and relax while you shop. I find that when I'm at the parks I'd rather spend my time on the rides.
I'm sure you'll have fun no matter what you do!

We've been taking our DD to DTD since she was 2yrs old. We love it there and this is always our first day when we are at WDW world. We love to go do all our main shopping there and then we don't have to worry about getting as many things at the gift shops in the parks.

I think the key is going in the morning, especially with little ones. The toy store is a lot of fun....the build a potato head is so much fun! (tip: just buy accessories and save potato purchases for a yard sale or something...you free up more space in the box ;) )

We are taking our DD to the toy store for her 4th birthday (our arrival day) so she can pick out a treat for her big day, I'm betting it will be the My Little Pony accessories :)

It's fun, but I don't know if I'd classify it as must-do. World of Disney is sheer chaos

We love the Boardwalk. If they'd open a Goofy's Candy Co. over there, I'd be all set ;)

...but with 3 - 5 year olds I would skip it. We do it now that the kids are all double digits, but when they were the younger set, we always just scheduled a character breakfast during an open morning. I figured that was cheaper than shopping with them :) fed us a meal and we got alittle magic :wizard:

we always got to dtd/market place our first night..didn't really notice last time we were there but they used to have a play fountain area, a really cute lego playland and the world of disney shop is great imo...i think a morning would be fine unless your kids hate to shop for disney stuff! ( our kids have always likeed it but then they like to shop) that being said you cna find most of the stuff in the disney store in the parks somewhere so you won't really miss out( except on Ghiradelli fantastic goldrush sundaes!) if you skip it

We love DTD.

We usually go our first night...arriving mid-afternoon and not doing a park that day. I gets us in the Disney Spirit real fast.

The kids enjoy looking around and soaking up the atmosphere. I have 5 kiddies 10 & under.

The last night of our trip, we go back and the kids each get to pick out something.

I was wondering this myself. My kids are 9,6, & 4 so we only go to DTD for the marketplace to shop. I have the Disney Visa which gives you 10% off purchases at the World of Disney. With all I have planned for our time at WDW I really can't find time to go to DTD to shop. Not sure if the 10% is worth taking the time from the parks to shop & they sell pretty much everything at the parks that they sell at DTD...we are also staying at POR & everyone says you should try the boatride to DTD..not sure what to do. :confused3
