Does Disney Transportation run from parks to DTD and back?
I cannot remember for the life of me.

There are no direct buses from Downtown Disney to any of the 4 parks. You will need to take a bus to one of the resorts and from there use another bus or other form of transportation to the park you want to visit.

thanks! we were going to walk to DTD for our first night there and was hoping to get to a park without having to take the car.

Actually we were at DTD yesterday and they had signs up at both stops and they do have direct busses from DTD to the 4 major parks (I didn't see the water parks listed but our bus to OKW stops at TL after OKW anyway) during specific hours, I believe it was something like 9am to 6pm but I could be wrong on that. They signs were portable A-frame type signs so I couldn't guarantee that this service is something that is going to stay, could just be because of the crowd levels maybe :confused3

This would be something very new.

They stopped providing this service because too many people were using DTD as a free parking lot to the parks.

i will look into this because my hubby said last time we were there (last year spring break) the buses ran to the parks because we took bus to DTD then decided to go to MK

Sounds fishy. When we were there last Nov we had to take a bus from MGM to SSR and then the little boat over to DTD. There were no buses going directly between DTD and any of the parks.

If you had read the signs in detail, you would have noticed that the signs told you HOW to get to the parks from DTD. They gave instructions on which RESORT bus to board and then transfer to a park bus. The signs detail which resort bus is most convenient to which park.

That sounds right.

That's not what the signs said.

The signs said to take the bus to a particular resort and then transfer to a bus for that park. (for MK, use PO), etc.

There are NO direct buses to ANY park at ANY time from DTD.

Hey Cranbiz...when are you going to change your signature and get rid of that "Purple Pants" thing?

Sorry I couldn"t resist. :lmao:

Huh??? Is he no longer wearing purple pants???

Actually, very soon, there will not be any bus drivers wearing purple pants.

 Wow, that didn't sound right. :rotfl:

What I really meant was there will be new bus driver costumes - beginning April 5.

I am gonna miss the purple pants  but the new hats are kind of interesting.

Well then....I think I really need to get down there before anyone in authority realizes the drivers aren't wearing purple pants!!!! Too funny.
Are they changing their uniforms??? Sure do hope so. Only in WDW can you see someone wearing that atrocious purple color...as a uniform. It amazes me that those drivers can be so cheery while looking so...well, so purple!!

I have always liked the purple pants. It was the awful green/yellow/purple shirts I did not like.

Needless to say the new bus driver costume colors, or I should say lack of colors, are going to surprise a lot of people.

Lets not forget that Barney was purple and he was pretty cheery.

Sorry for the confusion, I really thought the signs said there were busses going to the parks that day
