Hi,

Which resort should I head to from DTD in order to take the monorail over to MK? Are the bus stops all close to the monorail station at each resort?

Thanks!

Sorry for posting this to the wrong thread....

The monorail doesn't go to any resort near DTD only to Epcot Park. You should go to the TTC if you want to catch the monorail to MK.

Spciycate what is the cont?

I may have phase the question wrong ....

If I am in DTD and I want to go to the MK, which resort bus should I take so that I can take the monorail to MK. For example; Should I take the CR bus from DTD or the Poly bus or the GF bus or does it not matter?

DTD does not have park busses, right?

Thanks

Thanks Spicycat

I get it....Take the bus to CR and then walk over....

This is the reason it is so difficult to find a parking space at DTD to actually shop. Why in the world would anyone park there to go to MK, Unless they are AVOIDING the daily parking fees at the parking lots designated for the parks? :sad2:

Sorry but I am not taking your parking spot! Jeeez!

I asked a simple question about getting from DTD to MK.

We are staying at CSR (without a car) and have an ADR at PH. After dinner I would like to go to MK. Simple question and looking for a simple answer.

Wow did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed!

The primary reason posters seek information about getting from Downtown Disney to a theme park is that they want to park there to avoid paying for parking - which is why Disney no longer runs buses between DTD and any theme park.

Now, all YOU want to do is get on the first resort bus that comes; at that resort, switch over to the Magic Kingdom bus. It'll drop you off as close to the MK entrance as you can possibly get (except the MK resort launches, for which you'd have to walk through some resort and find your way to the right dock).

Not everyone is a cheater and to assume is just wrong! I never said I was parking at DTD so I was not even sure where that came from...

Spiceycat gave me exactly the info that I needed to know. (we wanted to ride the monorail ....) I hope that is OK to do ;)

Thanks!

I have had a miserable two weeks and YES I did make false assumption about your intentions. I should never have jumped to conclusions.:sad2: PLEASE accept my humble apologies and I hope you and yours have a MAGICAL TRIP:thumbsup2

The other thing you might want to decide is how long do you want to be on the monorail? If you take a CR bus, you can either walk to MK via the pathway (about 8 mins) or you can hop the monorail and it will be a nice, leisurely ride of about 25 mins. If you want to spend less time on the monorail then take the GF bus. I don't think you'll find any of the MK resorts have their monorail station platforms all that close to the bus stops.

My day is definitely better now!! DizneyNutz I accept:thumbsup2

Thank you so much!!:goodvibes

Goofy4tink... Stopping quick at the GF would be nice. Maybe take a quick peek and then head over to MK. But the bus to CR and walking would be the quickest route??

Yes, the CR route really is the quickest route. The monorail can be quicker if....1. there isn't a huge crowd ahead of you at the platform 2. you don't get caught in a crush of people trying to get from the buses to the park entrance or a crush of people leaving the park 3. the monorail is there and you get on just before it closes it's doors.
The CR is the next stop for the monorail at the MK. But if you get stuck in a crowd or the monorail is jammed, it is a lot faster to walk to the CR. Besides, then you have to get off the monorail at the CR, join the throng of people that are squeezed into the narrow walkway to the tiny, narrow escalator and then hop on the elevator to get to the CR. And, I believe you have to stop someplace to check in for the CG before heading upstairs. So, you may as well just walk via the path, it's an easy pleasant walk and check in for CG and then take the elevator. Yum!!!!!
