Our flight leaves MCO at 2:35 on a Wednesday afternoon. We are not checking bags. We will only have personal items with us. Therefore we will check-in and print our boarding passes at the hotel. Do you think we would have time to go to DTD that morning. I was thinking about having a car service pick us up at DTD instead of using the Magical Express. If this is doable, what time would you suggest leaving DTD to make it to MCO for our flight.

We went from DS to MCO and I still tried to stick to the 3 hours prior to the flight concept. We were super early and actually already through security before the family we were traveling with who took ME were even at the airport. So, I would say if you are going DS to MCO, obviously everyone's personal preference is different but I go by the idea of I would rather be early and hanging out than late and stressing, head out by noonish.

I would be leaving Disney Springs no later than 12:00.

I'm guessing Alesia means 12:00?! With a 2:35 pm flight, I would be heading out of Disney Springs by 12:00 noon. We've been taking private cars to and from MCO/WDW for years and, in the past, we would schedule the pick-up 2 hours prior to the flight. Like you, we don't check bags and always have our boarding passes printed. Starting this year, at the suggestion of our limo company, we've been scheduling pick-ups for 2 1/2 hours prior because the TSA lines tend to be longer now. We did this in May and we arrived with time to spare. Could we have made it with a 2-hour prior pick-up? It turns out, on that particular day, yes. But it's so unpredicatable! I would schedule for noon. BTW, if you are looking for a good company, call Park Ave. Limo!!

Be prepared for the bus driver to not let you bring your carry on luggage on the bus.

We will only have "personal items" so we will not have luggage with us. It's just a quick two day stay. I can pack everything we need in two backpacks. Thanks for the advice.

My family and I always end our trip with lunch at WPE at DS prior to heading to MCO. I rent a car and we pack up our things, drive over to DS, and leave about 2 hours before our scheduled flight....thank goodness, I've never had an issue. I am firm in no less than 2 hours so some years it's 2 hrs 15 or 2 1/2. Either way, may be smoother for you since you don't have to check in luggage. Best of luck!
