DS7 and I are planning a trip to DLR, and we'll be meeting up with some of our SoCal relatives for dinner in DTD the first evening of our trip. They've told us to pick the restaurant, since they live in Orange County and visit DLR regularly. DS said he'd like to go someplace that has fish, especially if they have salmon. (It's one of his favorite foods - but he doesn't like fish sticks. :confused3)

We have friends joining us on our trip for days 2-5 who are new to Disney vacations, and we'll be having lunch at Rainforest with them later in the week, so I'd like to find a different restaurant for our dinner with the relatives. It will be DS7, myself, my step-brother-in-law and his wife and their 17 yr old twins, so we're a fairly mature group (most of the time! ;)).

I thought we saw salmon on the menu somewhere in DTD, but now I can't seem to find it. Does anyone remember or know of a place where we'll find fish on the menu besides Rainforest Cafe?

TIA! :)

Another option if it's not still under refurbishment is the storytellers cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel. They have a dinner buffet, and the past two times I have gone they have had salmon as well as pork roast, carved turkey, green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, and a variety of deserts. They also have a regular menu option as well as the buffet.

The Jazz Kitchen has a fantastic Pasta Jambalaya with shrimp.
They also have lots of other seafood dishes.

Thank you! I'll look into that, too.

Jambalaya is probably a little spicy for DS, but it sure sounds great to me! I'll see if they also have some kind of fish that he might like that isn't too spicy.

ESPN Zone has grilled salmon and a salmon BLT. They used to have a really good salmon penne, but it's been gone awhile. And in the parks, the kids Mickey check meals have salmon. I think they serve it at Blue Bayou.

Oh Lord, the jalapeno cornbread crusted salmon at RB's Jazz Kitchen was to die for when I had it last month!

Don't even get me started on the corn chowder, either!

We LOVED that place.

Thanks everyone! :goodvibes Looks like there are a lot more options than I thought.

We haven't gotten DS to cross over to the spicy side of life yet, so I'll look into the places with milder seasonings on the fish. I'm a big fan of spice myself, (as is DH), but so far DS reacts like we've poisoned him when he gets the tiniest bit of heat on his food. :rolleyes2 I am glad that he likes fish, though, so I'm happy to encourage him to eat it instead of always going for the normal kid menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese and mac & cheese. I've often split an adult entree with him if it means he'll eat a little more adventurously. Plus that means more room to try appetizers and dessert!

RB's Jazz Kitchen CatFish was good when we went Oct 2013

We don't usually have catfish, so maybe I can talk DS into that! Although being a fan of the feline, he might be a little concerned about eating at Cat-Fish! ;)

So many options...now how to decide?!
