My daughter(7) has a question: What kinds of pet stuff for my golden retriever can I find at the pet store in DTD? Has anyone been there? I love dogs and I can't wait to see the pet store! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We've wandered through a few times and they have bandanas, food dishes, T-shirts (not for the pets though), pet treats, costumes, and a few other things I can't remember. From what I remember, most of it seemed geared towards smaller dogs and cats but there may be a few things for your Golden there. The store itself is not that big so the selection can vary each time.

We just returned and had gone to the store. The previous poster mentioned most of the products available, and those are what were available last July. There were a few new products this time, one of which we bought. One was a plaque of Pluto with a hook for the dog's leash. We almost bought that one, but we're not sure if we need a leash hook so we're going to wait until we're in our new house to decide. The product that we bought was another plague of Pluto with that says "the pet has been fed" and a hanging "yes/no" piece of wood. They have an automated dog tag engraver. We had a Pluto tag made up for our golden retriever. That was $10. It's a cute store, but nearly everything in there can be found around the other stores.

I've got a chocolate lab, so the itty bitty dog stuff isn't really for her. They have leashes, collars, and chew toys that the big dogs could enjoy. Also, you can get an engraved Mickey-head shaped name tag for the collar.

I wonder why they don't carry stuff for larger dogs?

We even named our dogs disney names (Elias <eli>) and (Lilian <lily>). They deserve a disney dog collar as well as smaller dogs do.

when we went last year, they had stuff for larger dogs, I even got one of my big kids a snow white outfit. I hope they haven't changed things that much! ;)

I can't wait! I had just lost my last golden before our last trip to WDW. But this time, we will be getting our new golden puppy about two weeks after we get back! I know where I'm shopping!!!! :cool1:

If you see a CM there with a name tag that says Kansas City on it, be nice. She's my sister!

Maybe I'll be able to buy my Doberman something after all! :earsboy:

Just to note, the collar I got for my lab was the large size, but I doubt I will buy her another one. First, it isn't WDW specific. It says Walt Disney World and Disneyland on it. Second, it has a plastic buckle. My dog, the weird thing she is, insists on putting her collar in her mouth and actually broke all the plastic buckle by chewing it. She has developed a nice talent of contorting her head to the point that she can get her collar in her mouth. Needless to say its metal buckles only for her now.

I remember some different types of treats and mickey ears for your dog.

The little dogs get the frilly costumes, beds, and carriers. I know my dog would not wear or use any of those and I am sure as heck not carrying her around anywhere.

The store itself is kind of small and the stuff can be also found at World of Disney, which is great since AP holders can get a discount there.

Thanks for all your replies! We liked the pluto dog leash holder.....we may have to get that for our front porch....sounds like fun! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I will definitely be making a stop at the store for Annie (she's a Cavalier King Charles mix of some sort) Everyone that meets her always tells me she looks like she's a Disney dog, not sure what that means but I take it as a compliment. She does like kind of cartoonish, you would just have to see her to know what I'm talking about. :earboy2:

I was dissapointed at the Pet Store in September they really don't have any toys for bigger dogs (I have a lab). I ended up getting Scout a frisbee with Mickey and Pluto on it. On my last trip in January I was looking at the Pet stuff in Mouse Gears at Epcot and they had these cute plush Pluto's that bark when you squeeze them. I ended up getting Scout one of those at the WOD with my AP discount (I found it in the room with all of the Plush toys (which leads me to belive maybe it wasn't for dogs? Anyways he loves it and so far has been indestrucable even to his toy testing half brother Zeus (who chomps and then breaks all squeaking/honking toys!)).

They do have a set of Pluto bandanas for I think it was six holidays that may fit a larger dog. We got them for my Mom's retired greyhound, and based on his size, I think the large may fit larger dogs. They were like 15 or 18 dollars for the set, are real cute and close with velcro. Also, some of the clothing came in larger size, but most of those large dogs are too cool to dress :earboy2:

We bought my Dobie a frisbee from Hershey Park and she had it "destroyed" in about 10 mins. Same with stuffed things. Her teeth are razor sharp, she doesn't mean to rip the stuffed animals - her teeth break the seams. Funny - she can keep a small balloon for a week, only popping it if her claw hits it - but "dog toys" forget it! :rotfl: She does like treats and since she's black colorfull bandannas look good on her.
Thanks Again!

I wouldnt be able to get my Pittie any of the toys because he would just tear the stuffing out of them so he just happily munches his food out of a Mickey bowl and drinks from a Pooh bowl.
