DTD Parking

Is DTD Parking still a mess? We have a reservation for lunch there and want to know how early we need to plan to be there because of it. THANKS!

The new garage is open and it is HUGE. Parking is very limited on the Marketplace side and there is a ton of construction out on the road (sorry, terrible with the road names on property) but there is plenty of parking now with the garage open.

If you can come in on the West Side end and turn at the second light into the garage, its not too bad. Coming in on the Marketplace side its a mess. Where are you eating?

To save walking time, I would park in the Cast member lot, or Team Disney.

Right now that garage is a bit of a hike from the west side.

We drove there Friday night after leaving Animal Kingdom. The entrance over by Disney Quest was closed, leaving everyone only one entrance to turn left into the lot. It took nearly an hour and a half to get from AK to the restaurant. The garage was huge and I'm sure things will be much smoother once the construction is done. But right now, on the weekends at least, it is a complete disaster. We plan the heck out of our vacations and I'd read about the construction prior to leaving but I wasn't prepared for that. There should really be a sticky on this board warning people about the time it takes to get to DTD on the weekends(btw, got in just fine on Wednesday, so I think it's primarily a weekend issue). It's that bad.

If you can take the bus. We go to one of the resorts and then catch the DTD bus. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get over there whether you drive or take a Disney bus.

There is still alot of construction and congestion in the area. They are adding an on ramp from I4 directly to the parking garage. So yes it is still very bad. Projected completion is Fall 2015.

When we were there a few weeks ago, when you exited the Garage, they made you walk into the entrance by DQ/Cirque or by the AMC theater, so yup, West Side.

We were there last week and it was a mess. I had read about the construction but didnt realize how much. Both nights the parking garage had a sign saying it was full. The first night we were directed to the disney employee lot all the way by the west side, quite a hike to get to the market place. The next time we were directed to a different employee lot, which was across from the market place, that was better. But still a pain to get to. It might not be as bad during the afternoon.

It was so bad the first time we went, garage full, flashing signs everywhere saying lot full, we just drove straight through and left. We tried again during the week and garage was full again, but they had decent directions on which lot to park at. I'm glad we were able to find parking, but I'd say avoid it, or take a disney bus or boat from somewhere else.

It was an absolute mess when we went last week. I mean a MESS. We were in traffic for about 2 hours just to park and walk about 20 minutes.

Is there any Marketplace parking left? We drove around a few times in early December and the only entrance we could see that was still open on that side of DTD was where the buses come and go from.

There wasn't when I was there recently. I parked in the casting lot and walked across the street.

Yes which would make parking there a bit of a hike to TRex. Apologies did my sentence not making that clear.

Parking at The Casting center or Team Disney would yield a much shorter walk.

I was there yesterday...the parking garage is open if you plan on going to the west side but if you want to be closer to the market place you have to park across the street.
