Heard quite a while back that the Downtown Disney McDonald's was going to close ... and a chicken place was opening in that location?

Has this happened? If so, what is the name of the chicken restaurant?

Thanks bunches!

yes, Mcdonald's is closed.

The restaurant I believe is from the chain pollo/chicken campero. It is fried chicken.
Not sure if it's opened yet though.

Pollo Campero is a Guatemalan chain with numerous US locations, featuring either fried or grilled chicken with Latin-style accompaniments. Supposed to open in DTD in fall 2010.

McDonalds closed at the end of April.

We ate at one in California! The chicken is juicy and so flavorful, I'm looking forward to the change!

I'm a bit disappointed because DS got his McD's fix while I got something at the Earl of sandwich. I always let him get one McD's meal during vacation so I guess that we'll be going to the big McDonald's offsite.

:cheer2: I love Pollo Campero. We have one at home & I :lovestruc the plantains! And we found the grilled chicken to be moist and wonderfully flavored!

I'm sure many kiddos will be sad at the loss of McD's (and maybe their parents), it will be refreshing to have a change! :woohoo:

There's always the McDonald's down near Pop Century. It's still there.

:)

Will this restaurant be on the DDP or like most in DTD will not??

I'm betting not!!!

I think it is likely Pollo Campero will not accept the dining plan, but we won't know until they open.

Popeye's Chicken is coming soon across the main street at DTD near the Hess station.... there will be a taco place with it too...

There's also a McDonalds off property just down the street from DTD. If you go down the street with all the DTD off property hotels, go through the light at the end of the street. It's in that shopping center.

i'll admit that after so many expensive and NOT tasty meals on our last 2 trips on property, it was nice to be able to go to the McD's and know what we were buying and paying for. And that we were going to like it and our DS would eat it. :rolleyes1 But this new chicken place sounds tasty! :upsidedow
