Haven't heard anything about this hotel lately. Anyone just returning? We will be there in a few weeks and would like a some recent experiences and opinions. Thanks

Peg

I have nothing but good things to say about the Courtyard. We were just there 11/3-11/6 (right after a 3 day stay @ Swan). I admit I was aphrehensive given the $39/rate but our room was totally new and spotless, bigger than the Swan, I might add. Yes, I loved the Heavenly beds at the Swan and the double sinks but those are the only significant differences. Even the Downtown Disney transportation buses were very much on schedule and reliable. Everyone at CC was very friendly, I asked about getting a single balloon for my son's bday - they gave me the whole bunch. Although we weren't at the hotel that much, we did get to enjoy the pool area. Easy walking distance to Downtown Disney - we did that couple of times. Let me know if you have any other specific questions

What floor were you on? Were you far from the elevators? Did you eat there? This is going to be a real relaxer for us (husband and me!) We were just there in September/October and did the commando thing.
With the rest of our travel vouchers from Southwest, we are taking a four day trip just to relax!
Anyway, we will probably spend more time in the room then you guys did and want a nice view if possible.

Thanks for your speedy reply.

We were on the 4th floor, room 416 I think. We were pretty close to the bank of elevators (not too close for them to be noisy). I am embarassed to admit that I never looked out the window more than long enough to know if it was sunny or cloudy. My DH said that we were in the rear (probably not the best view but as I said, we didn't notice...) The hotel didn't seem empty but was by no means full either, I'd think you could be specific with room requests. Enjoy!

Planning on having a fabulous time!! I appreciate your answers:p

We were there in September and are returning in December. We found the staff to be very caring and our room was clean and fresh. The bed was more comfortable than we have experienced in a deluxe Disney. Their rateds have gone up but it is still a bargain in my book. We were on the top floor right by the elevators and never heard a sound.

Peg-
We did eat at the Courtyard cafe a couple of times. One night for a quick bite after fighting rush to get out of the parks. Kids got Pizza Hut pizza, DH & me big salads and appetizers. Everything was good, and after buying Park food for several days, prices seemed downright cheap. Only complaint was A/C was way too cool, (they adjusted on request). Ate there another day for breakfast buffet. Excellent selection, made-to-order omelets and Mickey waffles plus many other standard breakfast fare (Yes, they had Krispy Kremes). Again, prices very reasonable ($8 or $9 , kids free.

I was a little worried, we have never stayed off site before. But thanks to you all, I'm getting excited about our trip.

We were there back in May/June (2 weeks) and that was our third year. This time we were on 11th Floor, overlooking pool area and Downtown Disney. Previous visits we were facing Hotel Plaza Boulevard (Room 1110). Cannot praise hotel enough. Only downside for us - we did not have good experience of dining in the hotel restaurant in the evening. We are a family of 3 and there were only 2 other people in the restaurant. We still had a long wait to be served and the food was wrong when it arrived. However, we love the buffet breakfast there so I suspect we just might have hit it on an off night. Liked the fact that they had a computer terminal in the main lobby downstairs and for a couple of dollars I could check emails etc. Yes, I know it is a holiday, but emails are quicker and cheaper than postcards back home! The bar area is nice. Because all the internal walkways are carpeted, we have never heard a sound from outside our room, or from adjoining rooms for that matter. Bearing in mind we have spent a total of 56 nights there over the last 3 years, thats pretty good! Have a wonderful time - and I am very jealous!!!

I was there August 221st thru the 25th 2002 and found it to be very nice.. not quite upper scale but i had two rooms in back of complex with balcony overlooking the pool.. if still being held the managers party everyday was worth the price of admission..cant beat the convenience of being so close.. hotel was clean and service very good.:bounce:

I have stayed 3 times this year (all on business trips) and will be taking advantage of a $29/night rate thru Dreams U ther first week of December. We visit every year during the first week after T-Giving and usually stay on-site (Spend $175-300 a night). The $29 rate was too good to pass up especially since I enjoyed each of my stays there this year. By request, I was on 14th floor, view of DTD and Mk, EP fireworks and of course Pleasure Island each night. EP (Illuminations) is not the best but MK view was pretty good.
I have eaten at the buffet, it is ok and convenient. DTD is so close you have many options. Also Crossroads is pretty close, about 10-15 minute leisurely walk. I like Jungle Jim's there.
Hope this helps, have agreat time.

The rooms in the wing had a sink both in and out of the bathroom - so if you want 2 sinks I would suggest trying for a wing room. You lose the view of fireworks but might be worth it. (We were not on the correct side for it anyway- when we were in the tower we faced the Interstate). I liked the wing better.

for all the info. I am looking forward to our stay there.
Miko, we are going the first week in December too! That rate was just too good to pass!!

We were in the Tower on the 7th floor overlooking the pool with a view of DTD and the Epcot fireworks, and we had a sink both in the bathroom and outside of the bathroom, so that accomodation is not just limited to the Wing rooms... Just let them know when you make your ressies that you would like bathrooms with the sinks arranged that way!

I was there bac in Aug. Every Rainy day we took an early day and went back for FREE drinks and nachos!!, then head back later for m0re .fun The busses are deluxe, they are coaches with reclining seats, and television overhead shawing the other DTD hotels. We also joined the Marriott rewards and asked for a high room with the view, we got 9th floor which had it all ,including the doubnle
sink!! I,m going back Again!!

I haven't heard about this, can you elaborate please? I thought I read somewhere that the hotel is dping work in the lobby and there was no afternoon freebees. Am I mistaken (I hope)?
Thanks for all the feedback, I am really looking forward to this trip. (especially since it has snowed here AGAIN and the wind is blowing everything around):(

You are correct... they were fixing the skylight, so they cancelled the managers parties while they did the repair work. Not sure if the repair work is complete or not. If you want to know, call ahead and ask.

as usual, common sense advice! I just got off the phone with the hotel and was infomed that the skylight has been repaired and the managers party is open from 5-6 pm. Doing the happy dance!!
