Never stayed in a Hotel Zone hotel. Booked at BW.

Any negatives?

I know about the resort fee.
Was told parking is free.
Was told there is a stop lite for getting out onto Hotel Blvd - is that true?
I assume it's a hike to the parking lot - true?
Anything else I should know?

If the price comes down on the breakfast package, what does the breakfast consist of - just like the free breakfasts in other hotels, or a hot, sit down, cooked breakfast?

Thanks

We stayed at this hotel in December of 2011 and liked it very much. There were four of us (2 mothers and 2 daughters), and we had plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was spotless. The hotel staff was great - very attentive, and they brought extra towels to our room within a couple minutes of our request.

We did not eat at the hotel, so I don't know about the restaurant, but it seemed to stay pretty busy.

The bus service was great. We did not use our car. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was that there is no parking fee for hotel guests. The parking lot is around the hotel and very convenient.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of DTD. I don't remember if there is a stoplight coming out of the hotel, but there is at the main intersection.

My daughter and I went to WDW last December and were planning to stay at this hotel again but got a good deal at Pop and wanted to have EMH. This hotel is more comfortable than the WDW value resorts.

Stayed at BW DTD this past February over V-day weekend. Booked it last minute (a few nights before travel) as a mystery hotel via bookit.com for a decent rate (want to say around $70/night?). It was VERY easy to tell that the mystery hotel on bookit.com was this BW before booking.

The resort fee I paid was higher than listed on the website! I was a little put out, but oh well.

We had a high floor room with an Epcot (in the farrrr distance) view! There was a small balcony with table and chairs, although we found the sliding glass door didn't latch properly.

Free self-parking in a lighted lot and the parking lot is right at the hotel (it is built up rather than spread out), no walk to speak of at all. We did notice raccoons at night as the parking lot backs up to a woodland area.

There are 2 turn entrances from Hotel Plaza Blvd (one at a traffic light).

They have regular complimentary buses for the DTD area hotels to take you to the parks. The bus stop is out front of the lobby.

I didn't eat any food at the hotel, or use the pool, so cannot comment.

At check in I was directed to another desk for a welcome packet, which was really a time share pitch for Wyndham. It was not high pressure, I just took the packet and walked away, but it is still annoying to bother hotel guests who didn't express an interest. The packet was actually beneficial though as it had a coupon packet including discounts for DTD restaurants.

I would have no problems staying at this hotel again if I got it at a good deal.

Great responses. Thank you very much.

If anyone comes back, how was the AC? On Tripadvisor, that seems to be the only serious problem. Quite a few mentioned it didn't work at all. Some got repaired, at least one said told can't repair.

Others said it worked but blew hot, warm, or not cold enough air.

AC was fine when we were there (very cold air).

The room had a separate dressing area with a counter and mirror located across from the closet (that's where the coffee maker is). That was very convenient for the four of us.

When we were there the outside temperature was cooler. When we arrived in the room the AC was blowing full on cold air. It was chilly in the room (so says the person who normally turns hotel thermostats down as far as possible because I like it cold in the rooms :rolleyes1), so much so that we wanted the air to stop. There was a notation on some check in paperwork we were given discussing the fact that the air is set to be constantly on to help with humidity (or something like that). The "normal" control buttons did not do anything to change the temperature or blowing force at all. SO fiddled around with it for several minutes. I later walked up to it and saw a tiny switch underneath the controller. I am much shorter than he is, so I think he just couldn't see it. I was able to toggle the switch and it shut the AC off. I cannot comment if all the rooms have the same style controller.
