DS's surgery is set for tomorrow

I know it's not a 'big deal' but I still have a slight case of the nerves. He is set to go in at 11:30 tomorrow morning. He can't eat or drink anything (but water til 9:30 in the morning) after midnight. Anyone ever try to tell a teenager they CAN'T eat??!! It shouldn't take anymore than an hour, start to finish and they did say they would give him something to "relax" him before he leaves us.

to you...waiting can be the hardest part. My FIL is in surgery right now, and I am waiting word...he was none too happy about not eating either, and then his time was moved back to noon.....good thing the sedated him shortly after, for EVERYONE'S sake!

I'll have to go back to find out what the surgery is for (sorry for not knowing), but best of luck to you and your ds. My ds had a VERY minor surgery a few months ago, and I was still a nervous wreck...it's all part of being a Mom. Hang in there!

Kirk is having a lump removed from his neck. It showed up a few weeks ago. I almost paniced immediately since one year ago, to the month, that Kirk noticed the lump, my DH had a lump on his neck with turned out to be cancer. (I have decided I am NOT doing the month of August anymore!!) They aren't expecting this to be ANYTHING, all his bloodwork looks great, but seeing the recent family history, they think it's better to get this thing out of there. Get it gone before it has the chance to get bigger or to become infected and painful.

They are giving him something to "relax" him............think they'll give me some too??
