Hi, I'm MickeyNikiNaka and I'm suffering from the Disney Snowball Effect.

I miss everything from Indiana Jones to having my left hand look jaundiced because of all the stamps!

Heck I even miss the people trying to recruit you to their hotel as you were walking to DL!

I'm already trying to plan a trip back and I haven't even been home for a week:rotfl2: I think this is what one might call "a severe case"

Oh the withdrawl is something brutal... and the horrible and unfortunate but brutally honest truth is that it doesnt get easier. :headache: Best to just start your planning for the next trip to take the pain away :rotfl:

I too need to join some kind of trip planning addicts group. We went in nov, then dec...next is april and june, wdw in dec. DH just asked if we should visit in oct! I am having a hard time saying no :(

Hi I'm Angela :flower3: and I'm a DL planning addict too. Darn those great SWA fares. We went last Jan, Mar and Sep last year and I've been having the urge to schedule another trip in Apr or May. Why isn't 2 weeks (WDW/cruise) in Nov enough? Nov just seems so far away.

Ahhh...the joy of living 45 minutes away. LOL But I have some trips that I can't do all the time so I know the whole planningtomakeitfeelbetter routine.

Do you realize that even the name "DSE" is a result of the Disney Snowball effect in and of itself, in a roundabout way?

You see, Pink Budgie was the one who initially posted about the Disney Snowball Effect long ago, and the legendary Snowball has been discussed in post after post. It is both insidious and obvious, subtle and in your face! So I decided last week that rather than typing out Disney Snowball Effect every time I wanted to reference it - and it must be referenced often - I would shorten it to "the DSE" (we do love our abbreviations here, after all).

So.....essentially, the DSE created the DSE!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

So, from one DSE casualty to another, again I repeat my greeting:

"Welcome to DSE AnonyMOUSE - where we support your addiction and NOT your recovery."

That's so funny! When I first posted my discovery of this effect (however, we all knew deep down it existed, I just put a name on it) I didn't realize how extensive and wide spread this phenomenon was! :rotfl: My trip had "snowballed" from two days just staying at my sister's house to three days, a hotel, APs, and planning several more trips before I even left on the first one!

My upcomming trip snowballed from a few days to an entire week. We've never had a whole week there so I am looking forward to having the time to try some of the things we never do.

My dh has actually suggested that I start a "disneyland vacation planning" business, since I seem to spend all day every day planning for vacations we may never take!! Perhaps he figures that will save our budget a bit!

After I returned home from our Christmas trip, I made a new years resolution that I would not go to DL for the entire year! That lasted about 5 weeks, until my friend announced she wanted to go in June. So we are planning a June trip. Get used to it. I really want to go to Epcot but can't afford it.

Well, you will know you are really in trouble with the DSE if you find yourself planning the June DLR trip with your friend and then scheming to figure out a way to get to Epcot/WDW too and finding all kinds of rationalizations for why it makes sense to do both in the next year! (You all know the reasons: 'Oh, uh, well, I need to go to both DLR and WDW because I am stimulating the economy," or "Well, the Mayan calender ends on December 21, 2012, and so I had better get to Epcot before civilization ends," or, "There is a big asteroid heading close to Earth in another 27 years, so before I explode in a fiery ball, I would like to see Animal Kingdom"!!!!)

My Disney trip frequency has grown by 900%. :lmao:

From once every 3 years to 3 times a year! :cool1:

OK, I must confess to rationalizing DLR/WDW twice within the same week and within 30 days in Oct/Nov 2005. I think those were my worse offences.

With the Villas at the GC openning Nov 30th, I have tried to come up with a way to go the first week it's open, but that's right after our WDW trip this year.

Ahem... :scared: My scheming has recently started to include WDW. I've always wanted to see Epcot too. But because it is on the other side of the country, we couldn't possibly do it until at 2012 or 2013. Of course, I have my heart set on the Polynesian for two weeks. Can you imagine what would happen if that snowballed??? I'd be living there for a month! :rotfl: But I don't know how we are going to save for that if we keep running off to DLR in the mean time!

I think I would want to stay at the Polynesian too, if I went. Even though Grand Floridian looks lovely, I think I would love the tropical stuff - and also, isn't the Polynesian supposed to be on the path of the Monorail too, so you don't have to fuss with all the buses and boats and taxis to get to and fro? Yes, that could be a dangerous snowball and the DSE would be out of control. Off the charts! You would probably end up working there by the time your hotel stay ran out - they would have to put you to work just so you could continue to stay on!!:lmao:

The only other hotel I would REALLY want to stay in badly would be the costly Animal Kingdom Lodge, and that would truly be hitting the DSE rock bottom for me! I know that once I caught sight of a giraffe, I would never want to leave!!:lmao: :rotfl: (Epcot and Animal Kingdom would be my first stops too, and then I would do the other two..... And some character meals!:goodvibes ...and some PhotoPass pictures... And some shopping!:rolleyes1....And if it were the holidays, I would have to buy one of the mini-gingerbread versions of the Grand Floridian....)

Uh oh! I think I see another Disney snowball rolling out of control! :lmao:

Sherry you might be surprised to find out the Animal Kingdom Lodge would be less expensive then the Poly, then you can stay longer.

DSE got totally out of control once we became DVC members, then you get the other DSE "add-on-itis", you can never have too many points! :cloud9:

Our Nov trip started with 7 of us and is now snowballed into 22 for the cruise portion. pirate:

Look, I wouldn't surprised if they might start diagnosing this is a real disorder. :rotfl:

I can see the headlines now...

"Move aside, OCD, the Disney Snowball is the new disorder in town"
